@runarorama@runT1ME Isn't 1password synchronizing your encrypted key vault with AWS? How can you tell there are no backups of these Aurora databases somewhere in S3 leaking some day in the future. https://t.co/2lx4E0KJ5D
@arosien In your example, the "b" field is optional. The proto3 syntax doesn't support required fields, all fields are optional. If you need required fields, you can use proto2, which supports the "required" keyword.

Released ScalaPB 0.11.0-M3, which is the first version of ScalaPB that comes with full compatibility with Dotty for both the runtime and the generated code. Enjoy it while it's hot!
@taroleo Nice that ScalaPB landed at the same ballpark without trying too hard - probably big wins are possible if we benchmark the parser/serializer more closely.
@tweagio My system feels cleaner than before. No random versions of tools installed in random dirs to satisfy different dev environments. Still getting my head around creating packages though.
@tweagio I tried NixOS on my primary desktop last weekend after reading recommendations. I expected things to be weird and difficult to use, but was disappointed that everything worked smoothly. Within a few hours I had my sway/scala/vscode/lorri set-up fully up and running.
Having trouble with code quality? Write a lot of tests. And I mean a *lot*. Test every file in isolation. Mock as many imports as possible.
When you're done, your code will still be bad, but now your tests will make sure it's impossible to improve anything in any meaningful way.
@eed3si9n@olafurpg Thanks for the write-up! sbt-ci-release has been a great improvement over the previous release process I had and I've been porting my projects over. sbt-ci-release also works extremely well with Github Actions which I find easier to use and faster than Travis CI.
When I started ScalaPB 6 years ago, I've applied the Pimp My Library pattern. I learned a ton since then about inclusivity and creating an environment that welcomes everyone. I've just replaced all the PimpThing classes in the code with ExtendedThing. https://t.co/U5abxWvmgP
