I’m so excited to finally to announce “The 1619 Project: A Visual Experience” publishes on 10/22 and is available to preorder at https://t.co/yi2xPQ8H4x. We’ve spent two years working on this gorgeous illustrated edition of The 1619 Project, with profoundly beautiful newly commissioned works of art by some of this nation’s most cherished artists, powerful essays, archival images and arresting photo galleries that contemplate Black patriotism, family and resilience.

Be careful to not argue for the rich. Poor and working class people need your energy. Money does strange thangs to individuals who were once in these shoes.
The Deacons for Defense and Justice was an armed Black self defense group who stood up against the KKK and discriminatory treatment by police in the Jim Crow South.
Though the group supported the values of MLK, they didn’t subscribe to his nonviolent philosophy.

I don’t want a car or any other gift for my birthday, I want stability mentally, physically, spiritually and financially. I’ll buy my own car or house or whatever.
