Education has never been subject to VAT. Applying VAT to private school fees is not removing a tax break. People who send their kids to private schools pay for that education out of pocket and pay for state education out of taxes like everyone else.

I'm a damn Labour voter of nearly 30 years and I know this is absolute fucking bullshit. Many kids at private schools are there because of the SEND provisions those schools have, that state schools do not.

This isn't a tax on the wealthy for the benefit of the nation. It's a punishment for the successful.
