Wanna keep on top of software dev at grassroots level?
The #buildinpublic movement is great for meeting people before they even launch on product hunt.
I wanna talk about someone I met today who genuinely excited me.
It was an in person meeting, and I lost his business card ๐ณ
But it was one of the most innovative uses of ChatGPT I've heard.
In short, he used it to make complex blender prompts...
5/ Biggest takeaway would have been to offer more for free, early.
Get advocates, build an audience slowly of people who wanted it to succeed, and would help with that.
And launch as soon as the idea came, with the smallest MVP possible.
What would you do differently?
My first product launch was back in 2016.
A platform that allowed people to find awards, and enter based on deadline & price.
Here's what I learned...
A thread.
4/ The biggest thing I would do differently, would be to personalise the launch in small batches.
Approach different companies individually and offer them free publicity in exchange for honest feedback.
Allowing us to fix bugs with goodwill.
@moritzkremb@hhezi That's true. A designer will be better with AI design tools than a random person.
The people with the best skills will likely be the best with these tools too.
@moritzkremb Quite a lot of that 10k goes into selling the idea to the client, getting them to buy the vision etc.
It's like a piece of strategy, or a headline. 90% is on briefing, ideas, stakeholder tweaks etc.
@AaranTheArtist What I don't get about AI in art, is that the value is more than how it looks. It's about who did it, what it was trying to do, where it places in time etc.
Can you ever actually see AI art selling for millions? Where would the value come from?
@Olearningcurve I think its sense of humour and jokes are dreadful. Ask it to write technically, sounds decent...ish. Write for entertainment and it's terrible.
@AI_ChrisK Yeah, that's going to be crazy actually.
The AI companies are going to have so much sway because the cat is already out of the bag, and they'll just threaten to go elsewhere.
It needs massive cooperation between CEOs and governments. We will see!
