Many Americans living in Israel have expressed (via social media) a desire to purchase your new book. However, we have not been able to purchase it in English in Israel (where a Hebrew version is available), and US retailers are charging an outrageous amount for shipping it to us (Amazon price $23.07, shipping $20.02 - I'd be willing to pay the full retail price, but not $20 shipping)! Boy, am I getting a lot of heat about this Netanyahu situation.

But to all those who say he has no right to fire Ronen Bar, the head of the Shin Bet because the courts have blocked it, I really have one question.

But first, some background and some thoughts.

The state of Israel was founded by ultra left and anti religious individuals like Ben Gurion. I say that not as a judgement but as a fact. Ben Gurion would have been the first to admit that.

The left continued to run the country for decades. Until 1977 when Begin won and it was coined a revolution. For the first time, a right wing government won the election.

What’s the first thing a leader does when winning an election? He puts his team in place and replaces the team of the previous administration, especially if the previous administration stood for the opposite of everything the new administration stands for.

That’s exactly what everyone expected Begin to do. Only, he didn’t do that.

He was the prime minister but he let the left continue to run the country.

The media, the courts, the various offices, all of them continued as they were before he won.

And that is how it’s been ever since. This is what people refer to as Deep State.

It means that the state, sometimes behind the scenes and sometimes out in the open continues to be ruled by the liberal left even though the government that was elected by the people, is a right wing one.

Ok, so what does this have to do with 2025? Great question. Thought you’d never ask.

Not sure if you heard, but something big happened on October 7th, 2023. I’m not even talking about the murders or the rapes. Not talking about the kidnappings. I’m talking about a total colossal failure of Israel’s intelligence and security system, the head of which is Ronen Bar, the head of the Shin Bet.

To name one example, Ronen Bar, after finding out what was going down on that terrible morning, and sit down for this, did not notify the PM what was happening. That’s right, you read that right. He didn’t pick up the phone to call the PM, wake him up, and enable him to take control of what was happening.

Can’t make this stuff up.

For that alone; he should have been fired immediately. But he wasn’t.

Basically, all other security personnel that should have prevented 10/7 have since resigned including the head of the IDF.

Mr. Bar has gone on record saying he takes responsibility for the failure of 10/7, but he didn’t resign.

Anyway… Netanyahu, Mr. Bar’s employer, his boss, demanded a report on his desk detailing exactly what happened on that dark day.

He told him to make sure the report is on his desk by the 15th of February.

On the 15th, Netanyahu did indeed get something put on his desk. It was a letter from Ronen Bar saying he is unable to submit the report. That he needed more time.

Ok. No problem. Netanyahu agreed.

He said to submit the report by the 27th.

On the 27th, Ronen Bar asked Netanyahu for another delay. Again, Netanyahu agreed.

On that same day, the 27th of February, instead of the report that Ronen Bar was supposed to submit, guess what magically appeared instead, a letter letting Netanyahu know that an investigation was opened about a supposed payment from Qatar.

I will write another post about that investigation and how bogus it is.

I guess it comes as a surprise to no one that there is a new item on the list of ways the left is trying to bring Bibi down.

You know, the submarines and the cigars and the bribe to the media (This one makes me laugh. Bibi paid the media for favorable coverage? Have you ever seen anyone vilified by the Israeli media more than Netanyahu?!) and Covid and the judicial reform and the deal he’ll never sign and then the deal he did sign.

Every one of those items didn’t just lead to mass protests against Netanyahu. They were also a well orchestrated media blitz trying to verify the ridiculous accusations against Bibi, each of which have since magically disappeared. But they won’t stop trying… Gotta hand it to them for their persistence.

Ok, so back to this nonsense with Bibi and Ronen Bar.

It’s really very simple. You don’t like Bibi? Great. Don’t call for a coup, don’t call for violence, don’t block roads, and don’t harass his family. Elect someone else. Ya know, elections? What one does in a democracy?

So why doesn’t the anti Bibi crowd just do that? Take Netanyahu down in the elections? Seems so simple, right?

Well, yea, it would be. If they had anyone who could replace him.

The funny thing here is that I have not heard a single name. Not one. I’ve asked endless people protesting against Bibi who they want to replace him. What’s their alternative?

Lapid? 🤡
Gantz? Do you know a single opinion of his?

Many have said Bennett. Great idea!! One slight issue. He’s not a politician. Details, right?

So they can’t bring him down democratically. So they take to the streets and stomp their feet.

That didn’t work either.

So the day that Ronen Bar is supposed to hand in the report that shows clearly how he failed on 10/7, what does Bibi get on his desk? The next attempt to bring him down, a new investigation about his team receiving a bribe from Qatar?

So, they’ll tell you that Netanyahu is trying to fire Bar to prevent the investigation. Only issue is that he asked for the report well before any such investigation existed. And just like the head of the IDF, as soon as he would have submitted the report, he would have been fired. He knew that. The courts knew that. Everyone knew that.

So what did they do? They launched this investigation. You think it’s a coincidence that it literally happened on the same exact day?

The firing of Ronen Bar wasn’t supposed to prevent the investigation. Nope. The investigation was supposed to prevent the firing of Ronen Bar.

So what you have here is a head of the Shin Bet who failed miserably on 10/7, who took accountability in words and admitted he failed, and just when he was supposed to be fired, somehow his political buddies in the courts, on that very same day, opened up this investigation and then used that investigation to make the claim that Bibi can’t fire him because now there’s a conflict of interests.

How convenient.

So, everyone, including the father of the deep state, Aharan Barak, agrees that the government is legally permitted to fire the head of the Shin Bet. So then, what’s the issue? Why are all of the “Just not Bibi” folks on the streets again claiming once again that Bibi will bring the end to the Israeli democracy? (They love that claim. They keep using it over and over and somehow, magically, Israel is still a democracy.)

Their claim isn’t that there’s a legal issue here. The law is clear. Bibi can fire him. The issue, according to them, is an ethical issue, a moral one, a common sense one.

They claim that Bibi has no reasonable reason to fire him, and that it’s personal. (No reasonable reason? To fire the head of Israel’s security? After 11/7? Are you serious right now?)

And guess what the law says about the relationship between the executive branch and the judicial branch. The judicial branch can over rule the executive branch if the latter behaves in a way that is not reasonable.

Are you seeing it? Do you get it?

If the government acts in a non reasonable way with a conflict of interests, the courts can stop the government. So in order to stop Bibi from firing Bar, they manufacture an investigation against Bibi so they can they say “You’re behaving unreasonably with a conflict of interests.”

Now, if you made it this far, you’re a person with one of two things, a brain or integrity. If you are able to look at these facts and see that something is very wrong, well, then you have a brain. If you disagree and still made it this far, you have integrity and you didn’t just dismiss all of this and call me a conspiracy theorist.

Good. Because guess what. There’s one thing here that’s actually not black and white. The investigation. Correct. The investigation might actually have legs.

There are many question marks here, the main one being, why did Netanyahu’s team agree to hire a consultant named Eli Feldshtein despite him not receiving the security clearance needed to work for the PM?

You cannot work for the PM without that clearance, let alone work in such a sensitive role with access to highly classified information.

Eli Feldshtein, as far as I understand, is the one who received the alleged money from Qatar. That money did go into his account. I don’t think anyone questions that. Who it came from and why is debatable, but there definitely is something happening here that demands answers.

Maybe an investigation is necessary. That’s definitely possible. However, if you think the launch of this investigation taking place on the same exact day that Bar was supposed to be fired after a delay granted to him by Bibi, then you’re not serious.

So now, the democratically elected government, despite voting unanimously to fire Bar after his failure of 10/7, is being over ruled by the Supreme Court who was self appointed and elected by no one.

And this is precisely why the judicial reform was so necessary back then, so that the unelected courts cannot shut down the government whenever it wants by simply saying that the government is behaving in an unreasonable fashion, which is of course 100% subjective.

And more importantly, this is precisely why the anti Bibi crowd fought so hard against the reform, because the courts are their last strong hold. I mean, there still is the media and that’s why you’ll see a concentrated organized effort to vilify both Amit Segal who didn’t join the anti Bibi movement and channel 14, which is the only not deep state channel on TV and one that has ratings that scare all the left wing media.

And just to bring it all home. Based on any and all polls and data, the Israeli public, the people you won’t read about in the ultra left media, have extremely little faith in both the courts and in Mr Bar and his ability to continue in his role.

So, on the one side, we have a democratically elected PM and government, we have a clear law that says the government is within its power to fire the head of the Shin Bet, and we have the Israeli public who is very clear about their belief in the self appointed judges, and on the other side, you have ultra left anti Bibi judges, a deep state media, and people who realize they are about to lose their last source of power leading them to rely on chaos and violence in the streets of Israel.

I truly hope Bibi doesn’t give into the domestic terror and he fires Bar. I hope this story will illustrate to those who care about this country that the dynamic between the government and the courts is unsustainable and dangerous. And I hope that like the defense minister who was replaced by someone who cares about the future of Israel and not about continuing the deep state, the same will happen with the head of the Shin Bet and he too will be replaced by someone who, when Israel is attacked like we were on 10/7, would be intelligent enough to wake the PM up instead of acting in his own best interest to try and make the PM look bad.

One thing’s for sure. Things are about to get very interesting and not in a good way. The NDS (Netanyahu Derangement Syndrome) crowd are yelling that Bibi is trying to cause a civil war.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a text book deflection. That’s exactly what they’re trying to do and have been for years. So far they’ve failed. I hope it remains that way.

Perhaps, and maybe I’m dreaming here, this whole circus will bring about the end of the deep state, which is exactly what the NDS people yell about all day, the opposite of a democracy.

Maybe Bibi will fire Bar and one more domino of the left will fall, bringing us one step closer to an actual democracy.

A man can dream, right?
