HOW DID WE GET HERE?
PLS READ!
1. My son currently in 400 Level Medicine and Surgery scored 333 in JAMB at the Point of Entry (PoE) but his name did not even APPEAR on the Admission List.....I was later told by the Institution that, my son could be offered Micro Biology. I told the Registrar of the instituition POINT BLANK that, " I have spent HUGELY (Several Millions of Naira) to get my Son to this Point of Entry (PoE) to become a Medical Doctor and not to become a Biology Teacher through her offer of Micro Biology. This Registrar was so MEAN.....She simply told me, we are very sorry, Micro Biology is the BEST we can OFFER your son.
2. At this Juncture, I proceeded to JAMB Headquarters, Abuja to meet with Prof. Oloyede who swiftly asked for my son's JAMB details, punched these details into his laptop and and everything concerning the university came up on his screen.
3. Prof. Oloyede said and I quote: "Dr. Muyiwa Kayode, please go back home and Sleep with your two eyes closed. From what I am seeing on my screen, your son is No.3 (Number 3) on the List of Medicine and Surgery of this institution with a JAMB SCORE of 333 which comes behind two other JAMB scores of 348 and 334 respectively. Unfortunately, non of these chaps, including your Son (i.e JAMB Score 348, 334 and 333) made the Admission List"
4. Prof. Oloyede continued and I quote: "Dr. Muyiwa Kayode, in SANE countries, this Institution should have sent the College Driver with an official vehicle to go and fetch your son from Ekiti to campus having projected himself into the MERIT LIST of this Institution but unfortunately, the endemic corruption in these institutions will just not allow them to follow Due Process"
5. Right in my presence, Prof. Oloyede put a call through to the Vice Chancellor of this Institution, setting his phone on speaker and spoke angrily at the Vice Chancellor, lamenting on the endemic corruption under his nose as it concerns university admission. This Vice Chancellor apologized to Prof. Oloyede saying what has just happened must have been an ERROR of OVERSIGHT on the part of his Management Team and promised Prof. Oloyede that, he will personally ensure the Error of Oversight is corrected.
6. Within 24 hrs of that conversation between Prof. Oloyede and the Vice Chancellor, my son checked the university's Admission Portal and discovered his name has been INCLUDED as Number Three on the admission list while the names of the other chaps that scored 348 & 334 also appeared on the admission list as Number One and Number Two respectively.
7. The good news in all of these is that, my son that would have been CRIMINALLY denied admission ab-initio now TOPS his class with a G.P.A of 4.85
This is neither Federal nor State government doing... Every sector of the economy in Nigeria is corrupt.

MAN’S IGNORANCE KILLED HIS WIFE, NOT FAITH
This story broke my heart because it is a tragedy that Islam itself came to prevent.
You remember the Hadith of the man with the head wound? He was on a journey, got injured, and then had a wet dream. His companions, out of rigid ignorance, told him he had no excuse and forced him to perform Ghusl with cold water. He washed, and he died.
When the news reached the Prophet (peace be upon him), he did not praise their "strictness." He exclaimed in anger:
"They killed him, may Allah kill them! Why did they not ask when they did not know? Indeed, the cure for ignorance is to ask." (Sunan Abi Dawud).
The Prophet called it killing. Why? Because they prioritized a ritual purity over a human life.
This husband who refused a male doctor in an emergency made the exact same mistake. He thought he was protecting his wife’s modesty (Haya), but in reality, he was violating the higher objective of the Shariah: the Preservation of Life (Hifz al-Nafs).
In Islamic Bioethics, there is a clear hierarchy we follow when seeking treatment in situation like this:
1. A Muslim Female Doctor (The ideal).
2. A Non-Muslim Female Doctor.
3. A Muslim Male Doctor.
4. A Non-Muslim Male Doctor.
You start at the top. But—and this is the critical part—if the top options are not available, you move down the list. You do not stop and choose death.
If a woman is bleeding out and the only hand available to save her is a male hand, that hand becomes Halal in that moment. The rule of Darurah (Necessity) overrides the rule of Awrah (nakedness).
To let your wife and twins die because you couldn't find a female doctor is not Ghayrah (protective jealousy); it is ignorance. It is a failure to understand that Allah does not want ease for us to turn into destruction.
Islam is not a suicide pact. It is a system of mercy.
Allah knows best.

There is this public tap by the roadside in my area. I always see people fetching water there whenever I pass.
But yesterday, as I was coming back in the evening, I saw that the tap was running, nobody was there, and a very bad and tired looking bucket was under it.
I saw as the water was wasting and I felt bad... Like why can’t people just off the tap after fetching water? What’s the point of wasting water like this?
I looked around and noticed a man sitting a little distance away, rolling up something inside white paper (I couldn’t even tell what it was, that he was rolling)... But I was angry at him, like Why can’t this man even get up and off this tap?
Well, as a patriotic citizen that I am, I decided to off the tap.
It took me some time because the tap was free-wheeling. I even thought maybe that was why the last person didn’t off it properly. But I stood there until I was sure the water stopped completely.
Just as I was about to leave, the man looked at me and said, “Who send you to off that water?”
I turned back and replied, Ah ah, is it better for the water to be wasting like that? Can't you see the last person that fetched didn't off it properly?
He asked, “Who be the last person wey fetch water?”
I replied him, I don’t know. I’m just passing.
He then shouted while pointing at the tap; “On am back.”
I said, On am back? The bucket don full already. Why I go on am again?
he continued, “On am back. Na business we dey do here.”
Out of annoyance (and to avoid trouble) I tried to on the tap back… and it refused to on...
I was turning and turning it, but no way!
Then the man came closer to me and said, “Make sure water come out before you go.”
I said, Ah ah! What kind of wahala be this? The tap no gree on o.
He replied, “Na why we dey leave am running before na, so on am back"
As he turned to go, he looked at me and said;
“As people dey fetch water, dem dey pay me. So either water start to run, or you pay me all the money I for make this evening.”
Aaaahh! Na serious wahala I dey o!
I kept trying and trying, and finally the tap started running, and I left immediately.
As I was leaving, the man shouted; “Better thank your stars.”
Omo! Iyanga dey sleep, trouble go wake am😭😂😂

@MahmudRibadu Absolutely. Being a person of value means striving to make a positive impact wherever you are, not just chasing success, but becoming someone others can trust, learn from, and be inspired by. Skills fade, titles change, but your value to others is what truly lasts.
