Was just about to crush the walnuts when my 2.5-year-old niece insisted on helping. I handed her the pestle, and with every single walnut she broke, she proudly said, "I'm too strong, I broke the walnut!"
If anyone ever tries to tell you that Allah abandons us, or that He isn't listening to you specifically, don't believe them. He just used a toddler and a stray walnut to speak directly to my heavy heart today.
To every girl reading this:
May you marry a man who listens to you with patience, wipes away your tears with love, and supports you with kindness.
A man who values your happiness, forgives your mistakes, and always strives to bring peace to your heart.
May he love you sincerely for the sake of Allah, protect your heart as a sacred trust, and be a source of comfort in both your dunya and akhirah.
Today I returned late from work, the first thing my mother asked was, "Jummah padhi". She didn't ask if i ate anything or was tired. Don't know how I can thank her enough. A blessing she has always been. May Allah bless her and keep us under her shade.
So I have a wedding in my Calendar for next month and I was so stressed out because I didn't know whose it was and I was afraid to miss it . Then I realised that it is a part of my 5 Year Goal and I've set it 5 years ago. It's my Wedding. I'm missing my own wedding 🥲
@notsowisedoc Couldn't relate less. My grandfather nicknamed me 'exam' since it was the only reason I couldn't visit him often.
May Allah's mercy be upon them!
"you handled it so well" yes, because no one noticed those tears, no one heard the loud screams in my head, no one offered a shoulder where i can lean on, no one saw me crying my heart out. with all those silent battles, i'm deeply glad for surviving
Saw my father's appointment letter, had he continued the job and survived some more years, he would've retired this year.
Humans survive on 'if's alone, where every 'perhaps' is a stepping stone.
When did masculinity become emotional unavailability? When did femininity become a synonym for unlimited tolerance? When did we start to believe that men couldn't cry? When did we start to believe that it's women's job to suffer silently?

The nights when you just sit and allow yourself to sink into the futher, think and think and think, can't lay down, you feel suffocated and the breaths hurt your ribs 💔
