Do you understand what’s happening right now? Israel murdered Al Jazeera’s entire Gaza City crew including reporters @AnasAlSharif0 and Mohamed Qreiqea to silence the media coverage of the horrific and bloody massacres they are committing in Gaza City.
.@StateDept seven Americans were on this ship. You must ensure the Israeli government doesn't abuse their rights, torture or kill them. Americans have been getting killed in Israel with no accountability.
Your mission is centered on protecting Americans abroad. Do your job.
Human rights defenders on board the Handala earlier agreed to a hunger strike if detained by Israel, per notice from @GazaFFlotilla.
As they’ve been detained, that hunger strike is now in effect.

We used to highlight the Deir Yassin massacre which took place in the Nakba. Every day today in Gaza is another Deir Yassin, where hundreds are killed, even starved to death. The Palestinian Nakba is an ongoing event.
Don't give your money to NGOs, politicians, or online pundits. Please donate instead directly to Gaza. Below is a link to @sameerproject's South Gaza Campaign, which urgently needs support:

The @LemkinInstitute is calling on every leader in the world to step in immediately with measures that ensure food and water gets into Gaza right now.
No more discussions, meetings, reports, sessions, summits.
GET FOOD AND WATER INTO GAZA NOW.
IF YOU HAVE THE POWER, YOU MUST USE IT.
“What distinguishes Israel's genocide of the Palestinian people is that it is completely without secrecy, without pause, and without any regard for the existence of Palestinians as human beings.”
It’s worse than “Gaza is being starved and destroyed and no one cares.” It’s that hundreds of millions *do* care and are powerless to stop it. We need a world where that can never happen, where the masses actually have political power.
The pope could board a ship with aid and sail to Gaza. With the UN declaring the final stage of famine that might be irreversible for millions, bold acts of courage by everyone in a position to do something are the only chance.
Don’t normalize this.
Don’t accept this.
Don’t let it become routine.
Don’t let it fade from headlines.
Don’t let it pass without consequence.
Don’t let it happen again tomorrow.
Don’t grow numb to it.
Don’t stand with those who justify it.
Don’t stop demanding its end.
🧵Palestinians have sounded the alarm for months over the Israeli-engineered famine starving Gaza’s residents. Support Palestinians on the ground who are keeping each other alive ➡️
So what's the plan here? We just sit and watch Israel starve Gaza to death with the support of our own governments?
And then what? We just go along with our lives, knowing that that happened? That this is what we are as a society? That our civilization is comfortable allowing something like that to happen? And that our rulers could do the same thing to another inconvenient population at any time?
We're just meant to be cool with that? And go on living like it's normal?
I'm genuinely curious. How exactly is everyone planning to go about living their lives after that point? How does that work, exactly?
No, an entity that is starving 2 million people to death doesn’t deserve any funding from the United States or anywhere else. An entity that is making a game of shooting different body parts of children each day doesn’t deserve anything but dismantling.
