That’s why the Biden administration created the PAVE Task Force, strengthened the process for challenging questionable appraisals, expanded fair-housing protections, and worked to combat racial bias in home valuations. With Trump back in office, all the progress that directly impacted Black Americans has been undone.

This is bigger than the price of a house.

It’s about home equity. Refinancing. Generational wealth. The racial wealth gap.

If racial bias can still influence the value placed on a Black family’s biggest asset, then simply saying America is “colorblind” doesn’t solve the problem.

Ignoring race doesn’t end discrimination. Addressing discrimination does.
