The Times of India reports that some Indian tech workers bought SECOND and THIRD homes, hoping to flip them for profit.

Now layoffs, falling property values, and mortgage pressures are catching up.

U.S. foreclosure filings in August:

• Nationwide: 40,277, up 12.83%
• Texas: 4,961, up 43.46%
• California: 4,450, up 8.33%

These are nationwide figures, not H-1B-specific foreclosures.

An Indian-American community leader says reverse migration of H-1B workers has already begun.

Which raises two questions:

1. Where exactly is the technology worker shortage?

2. Should temporary guest workers qualify for 30-year mortgages backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, particularly when purchasing second or third homes as investments?

Musk says Ambani is why Starlink still can't sell in India. India's telecom ministry says Starlink is at the same stage as 2 other satellite operators. In March 2025 Jio signed up to sell Starlink kits.
