My neighbors in my 1907 Chicago condo all know when I’m having a frustrating moment practicing viola, because I’ll typically take a healthy wack at the cymbal I was gifted by a composer in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

It sounds glorious.
It’s super loud.
It’s incredibly gratifying
