Here's a reminder of the basics. This should be posted everywhere including schools, medical facilities, post office, etc. IF WE HAD PUBLIC HEALTH. PLEASE spread and share with others.
Join us for an online symposium on #SevereMEDay2025, 8 Aug, 2pm (AEST). We'll discuss living with & caring for people with #severeME. Recording available post-event to address accessibility issues. Register here: https://t.co/vj8In2MHTx 🎤💙🎥
The BMJ @bmj_latest has not published a rapid resopnse from Maeve Boothby O'Neill's mum, Sarah, to its ME/CFS "hope" propaganda piece from members of the biopsychosocial ideological brigades. So I have posted it here: https://t.co/ThHny7pg1r
Nothing new to say this #MEAwarenessDay. My brain’s wrecked, my body’s broken, and after 27 years, nothing has changed: no progress, no treatments, no cure. It's #StillTheSaME and the fury burns. Sending love & solidarity to you all. #LeftToRot
The RACGP continues to endorse graded exercise therapy for ME/CFS in Australia, despite evidence of harm.
"The RACGP’s response devalues patient experience like any good gaslighter does."
Here is some truth: Putin invaded Ukraine. NATO is the most successful military alliance in history. Since 1945, American leadership has ensured freedom and security for ourselves and millions of others around the world. Together with our allies, we defeated the Soviet Union—an empire so evil it had to build gulags and walls to keep its own people in. Destroying America’s alliances and abandoning the cause of freedom is morally and strategically indefensible. Putin will pocket Trump’s naive concessions and demand much more. Appeasement makes a wider war more likely, not less.
@realDonaldTrump, @JDVance, and @elonmusk have made clear who they are. Only fools—or Kremlin tools—would abandon NATO, side with Russia, and demand Ukraine surrender in the face of Putin’s brutal aggression.
@hausofhemlock Hear hear. All the dead have been hidden from view along with #Covid19. Where are our memorials? They all deserve to be counted and remembered but the most vulnerable were thrown away so callously.
@Hayley_Gleeson@CrabbBrendan You've done an amazing job of portraying these diseases in all their complexity. One to consider for your journalism award @EmergeAus ??
@CraftyMissB I was very reluctant to lose my #pwME friends too and deal with more social media accounts. I've just joined bluesky. It was really easy as the platform is so similar but I'm hanging on here till I find enough company there. @thewibble.bsky.social
To anyone following me, I'm now on bluesy with the same handle. I hardly need to explain why I'm escaping this platform. It's to maintain my sanity and values. I hope I don't lose you.
The isolation and lack of recognition for unpaid carers is appalling. 'The idea that you could in effect sacrifice your employment and financial security to perform this role, and at the end of it, have a life and retirement of poverty, is unacceptable' #carersmatter
"I have certainly tried to seek support for myself, but I've probably gotten to the stage where it just upsets and annoys me, so I've pretty much given up." https://t.co/x6f9pVu8I1
The last time that life expectancy declined in Australia was due to Spanish flu at the end of World War 1. After 100 years of continuous increases in life expectancy, Australia is going backwards. And we are not alone. COVID is the greatest public health failure in 100 years
@BhupeshPrusty@RobertKennedyJr Nice idea, but seriously? He's not capable of understanding what you are proposing. His idea of healthcare is dangerous nonsense and will only worsen chronic illnesses.
@ErinAPN1@massey_reb36565 I so agree. Watching long covid being treated as badly as #MyalgicEncephalomyelitis here is heartbreaking and my advocacy was my only way to cope till even that broke me. years. Parents are already traumatised. The medical system has compounded it. No NDIS, nothing.
I still don't understand how a convicted crominal is eligible to run for president, apart from all the other obvious disqualifying factors. The USA deserves what it gets. #USAElections2024
He was the worst President in history. And when he got voted out, he tried to stage a coup. Then he stole national secrets and sold the ones he didn't store in the bathroom.
He was convicted of fraud, found liable of sexual assault and convicted of 34 felonies. He is half a billion dollars in debt, owned by God only knows who, and the biggest national security risk the nation has ever had.
But at least he's not a Black woman.
