Today we’re going to be tweeting to let you all know a little bit more about our Speech&Language Therapy teams at NUH.Our dept covers the acute wards across both QMC&City campuses as well as some outpatient services.Our uniform is white with lilac piping.Say hello👋🏻 if you see us

First up: outpatients! We have SLTs working as part of MDT OP services: ICU f/u clinic, Linden Lodge Neuro Outpatient team, Neuro-reablement team&the MND clinic as well as an SLT only outpatient service for patients with long-term neurological conditions

Next up: our lovely stroke SLT team! They cover the acute stroke wards C4 & C5 at QMC and Daybrook stroke rehab at City! It’s currently the only part of our service that has weekend SLT cover with a 6 day service! Here they are when they did the charity dragon boat race in 2019

Coming up next: The SLT team at Linden Lodge inpatient neuro-rehab unit! Emma, Tery, Beth & Claire work very closely with the rest of the MDT, providing intensive input to rehabilitate patients’ swallow function & communication skills after neurological injury

Next up is @SLTCWilliams @TeryKillick @AmyStorer6 @AbiWarrenSLT Our SLT team covering spines, neurology, neurosurgery, major trauma, orthopaedics, critical care (QMC & city), cardiac ICU/HDU & ARCU. All 4 also have specialist tracheostomy skills. Look out for them out & about!

And finally, working across a HUGE total of 50+wards at QMC&City are our ‘Specialist Medicine & dementia’ SLT team.They cover a wide range of specialties inc.HCOP,Gen med,respiratory,oncology, haematology,colorectal,HPB, gastro,thoracics,cardiology,renal, burns,palliative care
