@charlesonunze I'm being partly flippant, but I mean, fundamentally, we give from an overflow, right? We rarely think of empathy as a negative, but if we can share positivity, we can as well share the bad stuff.
@iamsomsoul@JORMUNGAND_rr The Op is right. Men don't want children in the same way women want it; what they feel is a vague existential drive to sexual access as a means to procreation
myth is not mere fiction; itโs meta non-fiction. though a myth (and an ancient story and parable in general) may have never happened physically in real life, it always happens metaphysically, in all lives. now substitute the word โtwitterโ for โmyth.โ same thing. twitter is the modern zeitgeist-capturing myth-machine. the energy of the collective on here betrays what is brewing in the collective subconscious. think about it.
Blessed are the cowards who show up when the wolves are already dead and the fields are already cleared and claim humility built what blood actually purchased
Today, Iโm honoured to share that Iโve joined the Board of The Luminary Project.
This appointment means a great deal to me because Luminary has been part of my journey long before today. I still remember the very first Luminary Awards Napa Onwusah hosted; I served as a judge at that inaugural event, completely inspired by the brilliance and resilience of the changemakers on that stage. I walked away a fan.
To now sit on the Board is both humbling and deeply energising. The mission to empower 100 million Africans by 2050 aligns with everything I have committed my career to โ building pathways, creating opportunities, and ensuring talent across this continent can rise.
Iโm grateful for the trust and excited for the work ahead. The future weโre building is bright.
I encourage everyone to check out The Luminary Project , follow their initiatives, and support the leaders transforming communities across Africa. Together, we can fuel meaningful change.

I have a very critical announcement to make: it is the men who are more like cats, and the women are in fact like dogs. how all of society has this backwards, I do not know. these things happen.

good day
I keep thinking about this one tweet I saw about parents who treated every inconvenience like a tragedy and how it basically conditioned their kids into believing that life was way harder than it actually is
Two people could come from similar socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, generations, etc. but showcase completely different levels of emotional fragility because of this
One person gets hit with an unexpected bill, accidentally breaks something, etc. Actually ends up debilitating them for a good portion of the day. Another person gets pummeled by a string of consecutive L's and ultimately laughs about reality being the greatest comedy
Just because as kids they didn't have the agency yet to question their inputs and had to make sense of them at face value. All they could do was see their mom freak out over forgetting to put the food in the fridge overnight and think "all mistake bad and scary" or see their dad calmly navigate through a recession and think "sometimes bad thing happen but never need to worry"
Honestly made a huge impact on me because it not only started making me hyper aware of my own knee jerk reactions, but also allowed me to better understand how other people act. Like no you're not being punished. You don't have to be exhausted all the time. Your family just oneshotted you but the good thing is you have the power to break the generational curse. Please believe in yourself
Everything is a matter of perception and your perception can be fully controlled. Life is truly only as hard as you believe it is. Catch yourself being dramatic, just take a step back and ask yourself why. Realize you were fed beliefs that you didn't ask for. Forgive the past, accept the present, and commit to the process of replacing those beliefs with new ones. Before you know it, you stop reacting in the way you once did and change not only your life but everyone who comes in contact with you from here on out
My debut collection is coming this year from @NarrativeLscape
