‘Absolutely senseless’: 13-year-old on bail allegedly kills Sydney father on his way home from work'
We don't need to live like this.

Tell you what’s the biggest scam in Australia that sucks billions out of the economy but adds nothing?
Comparison websites.
From my understanding they get paid about 30% if the yearly fee of whatever insurance company/product the customer buys.
Now the business say it be Bingle car insurance or Bupa health insurance might be like $1500 a year so that 30% is just an added unneeded cost that gets spread across all their policies.
The free no fee government owned comparison energy made easy site is great with no fees along with fuel watch in nsw.
A super easy policy that would benefit all Australians would be a free comparison website for all insurance products owned by the government where every provider is forced to have their policies on.
Get some AI nerd to make it super easy to use too.
Would save Australians billions
Funny, the Hoomers don’t seem to like this idea.
Yet when neg gearing was abolished they seem really concerned about rent increases, cause you know, worried about the renters…
@SpachusAus Curious to see inflation figures today.
I’ve been able to call them pretty accurately post Covid as an import manager, I see the wave early.
However, I’m not seeing it in any significance this year, other than a small lift early in the year.
Strong $AUD insulated us from that.
@plebcapital Dropping the serviceability buffer because of rate rises is like throwing away the lifeboats off a sinking ship because you think losing the weight will stop the boat from sinking.
@matt_barrie I mean Albo could just ban the media that report this negatively from his press conferences.
Problem solved. Apparently that isn’t censorship.
"Treasurer Jim Chalmers has said that the falling birth rate in Australia strengthens the case for higher levels of immigration."

@DrewPavlou@nascentjude I think part of the reason you would move to any country is surely because you like the existing culture and want to be part of it because it resonates with you.
Why else are you going there?
Telling people that an almost $3 trillion a year economy will fall into recession because migration was cut to a mild net negative isn't the political and narrative win that it's purveyors seem to think it is.
Quite the opposite in fact.
@Potstirrer111 I would guess that I am on the left like you, and i absolutely think you can hold the view that immigration numbers are too high and those two things are not in conflict.
I have said for years now it’s not to do with colour, it’s to do with mathematics.
A typical household can now afford just 12% of Aussie propadee sold. This is an all-time low. It’s worse than the GFC, & worse than 1990 when interest rates hit 17.5%. Even near-zero rates in 2021 couldn't unlock half the market. When the top quartile of earners is locked out of 60% of the market, it isn't a crisis anymore, it's a system collapse. Politicians didn't fix the dream, they priced future generations out of it completely. #Auspol
