You can do a google search to find other sources but the numbers are going to be roughly the same (depending on which year they're looking at).

This means if California stopped sending in tax revenues to the federal government and the federal government stopped sending money back, California would be $83 billion ahead.

There is a difference between what the federal government collects from California and what California receives. That difference is about $83 billion
