@jamiebsmith The last Travelodge I went too I refused to stay at, the bed was horrific and uncomfortable! The staff were lovely about it tho, gave me a refund on the room and said I could stay for free (which I didn’t).
@dgriffinpix@ianbrear@deanoadams That’s fair enough. But, how are you measuring “growth”?
Number of people attending the game? More people playing local cricket? Higher TV audiences?
I hate the term “Grow the game” because it means bigger all!
@dgriffinpix@ianbrear@deanoadams From personal experience the Blast has become somewhat of a boozy night out with a game of cricket going on in the background.
You can’t deny that visually (not factually), that families are more present at the Hundred and it’s a more family oriented experience.
@simonhancock_uk@ToppersSnr@DanKingdom96 But Chelmsford/Taunton have got it right, high scoring ground, plenty of boundaries, perfect! As a paying parent, we don’t want to watch 130 A/O on a dross wicket. And that’s where Taunton and Chelmsford do it better
@DanKingdom96@simonhancock_uk@ToppersSnr But if you go to Taunton you’re basically guaranteed entertainment. Which as a paying parent, that’s what we as a family want to see. We don’t want to see 130 all out on a dross wicket.
@simonhancock_uk@ToppersSnr@DanKingdom96 The answer to that is “Location”. The Oval/Lords has a massive catchment, not quite the same for Derbyshire/Northamts for example.
The Blast IMO, needs to be shorter, 14 games in the group is ridiculous, some teams give up after 9/10 if they know it’s pointless!
@dgriffinpix@deanoadams Your point would perhaps have merit if the Blast had was given the chop.
The Hundred has made non-cricketers easier to understand the game. My wife understands it better, even my 3y/o son understands it.
U9’s & U11’s cricket in my area next year will play with 100 Ball rules.
@AndythePandy_ The current cyclone going through the area could have minimised any diverting airport. Sometimes the longer version, like this, is easier than the quick version.
Hey @AmericanAir , nice of you to charge me £1,159.62 for a flight, then blame my card issuer for the problem, only to tell me I have to book again if I want to travel! Nice way of turning a profit!
