Most importantly I was put into an unsafe situation.
For now the only recourse I have is to state I will never use @bookingcom again and advise everyone I know against it as well. Reprehensible and irresponsible conduct for such a large platform.
@bookingcom agreed in writing that the property was "unsafe, abandoned, and not usable." They promised to "promptly process" a refund for my replacement stay once I sent a zero-balance invoice. I sent it the same day.

I can’t believe I’m being *that* person but I’ve had such a horrible experience with @bookingcom and their negligent lack of concern and culpability for their guests’ safety I feel compelled to share. If not for my own validation and closure, at least to warn others:
When I attempted to open the front door it was unlocked and the entryway was inaccessible due to trash and sheets of plywood. It’s hard to see in the photos, but it’s clear that the bottom-most floor is filled with trash and detritus.
In September, I arrived at a Providence "inn" I'd prepaid through https://t.co/ycNuRsNtFu. It was abandoned and unsafe, with no staff, and the phone number went to someone's personal phone.
