Will AI agents take our jobs… or make us richer?

Some see AI agents as a threat to their jobs. Others see a way to get more done, build faster, and make more money with less effort.

So what happens when AI agents become part of how we work and make money?

we’re bringing industry voices together to discuss what’s actually changing and where things are heading.

Topic: Will AI agents take our jobs… or just make us richer?

Build AI You Own 🧠

Five reasons to use ThinkOS:

1. YOUR data is served from YOUR machine(s).

2. Send prompts to any provider/models you want (even switch mid-conversation).

3. No vendor-lock. Eliminate the tech debt that comes from building in silos.

4. Keep the power. Your intelligence belongs to YOU, not to Big Tech.

5. Collaborate easily with both humans and Ai Agents (aka Think Agents) in one place.

—

Didn’t we learn our lesson in Web2?

Stop handing all your prompts, memories, workflows, IP, integrations, etc.. to Big Tech for them to monetize. That power belongs to YOU.

Now, more than ever, it’s ESSENTIAL to own your intelligence. 🧠

Freedom from vendor-lock is key.

Take advantage of the BEST that AI has to offer (open source, providers around the world, emerging models and startups, etc…)

Avoid giving Big Tech more power with all your data.

Instead, consider growing your team (and managing your digital life) with Think Agents in ThinkOS.

In addition to the privacy and sovereign control you get, here’s why from a PRACTICAL standpoint:

* Brings clarity to focus on outcomes, KPIs, revenue, etc.. and eliminate blockers to success.

* Frees you and your human co-workers from having to manually build, manage, or measure … and instead focus on taste and judgement

* Eliminates your team from being Meat Proxies (i.e. you can now see and share context from AI work instead of guessing it after being passed artifacts)

* Gives you one simple aggregate inference plan and always-on ThinkOS Computer if you don’t want to hassle with multiple providers and Mac Minis in your office.

* Helps optimize your inference costs (check out auto mode!)

* Allows expansion into new projects, hobbies, productivity boosts, etc…

* Clears your phone and desktop from apps that your Think Agents can use for you.

ThinkOS is your central interface to your digital world and Think Agents manage your messages, texts, emails, workflows, notifications, social media interactions, news feed, etc.. so you can focus on what matters most to you.

[Think Agents @thinkagents]

For the average user, ThinkOS is KEY for moving away from centralized AI:

* Private data on your computer
* Provider agnostic
* Local inference encouraged
* Build AI workflows once and swap/compare models at any time.
* Collaborate easily with both human and AI colleagues (Think Agents).
* Optional encrypted backups
* Optional aggregate inference plan (so you don't have to sign up with multiple providers)
* Optional hosted ThinkOS Computer in the cloud so you don't need a mac mini or separate machine in your physical office.
* Extremely robust free plan (simple download, link in bio)

there’s something quite awkward about all the personal agents in the current hype cycle

muse, grok bot, instinct, dots, and whatever google, anthropic will come up with

none of them is “mine”

i’d be trusting a vendor for some of the most sensitive data about me and bet on them handling it with extreme responsibility. what if they have a data leakage incident? what if they hired a wrong employee? what if they simply break bad?

i’d also be betting on their model. right now i’ve set up a lot of my stuff in grok bot, but what if their model falls behind? what if another model becomes 10x better on pure intelligence? then i’ll either miss out on a better assistant, or have to bite the bullet and do a full migration

i’d also have to bet on their product. they may not build the features i want. they may not allow me to customize enough. and one day my assistant may show me ads

that feels like way too much betting than what i’d be comfortable with, if i truly want literally everything in my life to go through and be taken care of by an assistant

with all that considered, i’m more bullish on open source personal agents that run on people’s own computers. but i think these open source projects have to break out of the assumption that their users are developers and they can just throw a repo at them and ask them to launch a terminal

a well polished, fool proof, community maintained, vendor agnostic, free personal agent that everyone can run by themselves without locking into a SaaS - that’s what i think many people will need

How to expand your team with Think Agents:

1. Download ThinkOS (link in bio)

2. Select your preferred AI providers and/or local inference

3. Tell your Chief Think Agent exactly what role & outcomes you need from a new agent.

4. Watch a new sphere and Think Agent get automatically created

5. Give that new Think Agent accounts/integrations and workflows the same way you would give a human an email, GitHub, Slack, Discord, Google, etc.. and jobs to be done.

6. Tell your Chief Think Agent to manage your new agent to ensure quality work is getting done (they can even have a weekly 1:1 and give you a report how it went).

7. Repeat the above with your next agent (you can even have your Chief Think Agent suggest agents to spawn and manage… to help you and your team achieve your desired goals/outcomes)

How to acquire customers for your business through ThinkOS:

1. Make sure you have thought of a Think Agent name and crated an avatar image.

2. Ensure you have a MCP, CLI, and/or API for AI agents to talk to your Think Agent, sign-up, pay, etc…

3. Create a ticket in Discord with us (link in next tweet) indicating you would like to be included in our Think Agent marketplace (releasing soon).

That’s it, we will follow up from there.

FYI: Users of ThinkOS are creating their own Think Agents now across all their spheres.

The more your Think Agent will save users time and inference costs to accomplish the outcomes they are looking for, the more money they are likely to pay for your service.

They will add your agent to their Think Agent team and trust the outcomes they are looking for will get done.

Welcome to the new era of software applications … and the new perspective of people/agents that are your next customers.

This is your daily reminder to STOP building AI in one provider’s silo.

And STOP fracturing your AI across multiple silos.

If you are doing either/both, you and your team are creating AI debt (a modern form of technical debt).

It will cost a LOT later to move your context, prompts, memories, artifacts, permissions, integrations, policies, skills, etc.. into a cohesive operating layer and brain.

Instead, use ThinkOS.

ThinkOS allows you and your team to build AI you own and collaborate effectively with each other and your agents.

You can easily swap models/providers within threads (or automate this in auto-mode), and assign appropriate providers and/or local inference to specific threads and workflows.

We are soon rolling out Shared Spheres, where you and your colleagues can pick up work on artifacts and any aspect of your projects with the Think Agents that are helping you. No more guessing context as colleagues send you AI-generated materials.

We also rolled out our own aggregate inference plan so customers don’t need to manage multiple provider plans if they don’t want to (this was a very popular request)

Have a great rest of your week! And indeed, STOP siloing/fracturing your AI.🧠

[Think Agents @thinkagents]

Recently we (the AI community) have seen the big players and overvalued startups:

* Change their usage limits so plans are unreliable
* Change their underlying model behavior and disrupt our workflows
* Go completely down so they are unusable
* Make cringe moves that make us not want to associate with them
* Not move fast enough to keep up with competitors
etc...

With ThinkOS (link in bio), your intelligence belongs to you.

You privately own your prompts, memories, workflows, policies, secrets, etc.. and can swap providers/models at any time.

In fact, check out our new feature Auto Mode, which automatically optimizes model and token usage across multiple providers.

Let us know what you Think.

[Think Agents @thinkagents]

@garrytan This is the way.
