@LudditeHacker@tolstoybb I’ve heard adjacent to the front, especially in the tiny villages that the Russians are desperately trying to take, that it’s more expensive than central Kyiv. This was from a single journalist talking about compensation for UA forces though, so could be lacking nuance.
@leo_caesaris Germany is gonna find that being a customer is a lot less tailored to continental ambitions than being a partner. At some point they need to realise these programs aren’t stationary, and they just need to commit to even an imperfect one.
@LudditeHacker@tolstoybb Isn’t it actually more expensive in drone range because the UA is required to source their own accomodation even at the front?

Let’s be honest: Ottawa’s mass-immigration policy has coincided with stagnant real GDP per capita because our economy and investment simply haven’t kept pace with the population boom.
Mass immigration is diluting Canadians’ prosperity.
It’s not the only cause, our establishment politicians have also crushed productivity with high taxes and anti-economic development climate change policies, but it’s a big one.
More people, less wealth per Canadian. That’s not rocket science.
It’s time to put Canadians first and have a moratorium on immigration.
If an immigrant stabs someone they’re not representative, but when they get stabbed they represent literally every immigrant? Almost like we need a system that assesses people on their individual value.

@EricCrampton I feel the same about tourism, not only should councils be allowed a bed tax, but they should also be allowed to have their own little GST. Let towns capture the benefits of people wanting to visit them, not just the costs.

There is already something like $3B across these accounts, 0.017% of it being invested in an S&P500 component shouldn’t even be a headline, even in a single trade.
Daily enrolment alone is around 10,000 new accounts, each with a $1000 seed. 5% of the daily total.
@Kiwi7373727@MasterVril@BritainElects The Pound is actually pretty unstable now days. Higher yeah, but that’s not really how strong vs weak currencies work.
This is such a fucking larp. At some point he has to acknowledge that London is one of the three or four cities that actually matter globally, and can’t be replaced by building a bus shelter or something in Manchester.
Ukraine has been turning down a lot of heavy equipment since 2023 at least. Pretty much once it became clear it’d be a long war, they refused to take anything that they couldn’t service easily or needed specialist training.
Word on the street is that Ukraine has declined Australia’s offer to transfer its retired Tiger attack helicopters! Kyiv has reportedly cited concerns over cost, spares, aircraft condition and configuration as reasons for the decline. Ouch!!! The Eurocopter Tiger has had a pretty rough career, and now even a country desperately short of military equipment has looked at the helicopter and gone… thanks, but no thanks 😀 Australia is replacing its 22 Tigers (the last of which was delivered as recently as 2011) with Apaches. That tells you something.
Hilarious interaction that’s emblematic of the pitiful state of the online right: clueless guy who showed up yesterday and doesn’t understand anything unknowingly lashes out at the people who created the subculture he’s crudely glommed on to.
