User experience goes beyond the product. Advocate evidence-based design and #remote culture. I rarely tweet, but I consume tweets every day. ๐ฏ๐ต in ๐จ๐ฆ
@mikeindustries@peterme@mkruz โthe designers (are treated that they) arenโt true peers to product and engineering, and are just expected to do what theyโre told.โ THIS! Iโve seen way too many of this and been there myself once or twice (or more)
@justinechlorine @DougCollinsUX This! For me, I was a solo designer on a small agile team, so the opportunity I had to meet & talk with a bunch of different designers during interview processes was a huge win itself โ๏ธ
50/50 is pretty realistic probability imo. While many ppl or orgs tend to hide or ignore this fact, itโs nice to hear the honest process thatโs messy and imperfect from #design leaders like @figmadesign
Also, there is a 50/50 chance that we completely missed something during exploration where we're like "oh crap. now what?" and we have to rethink something truly big.

๐๐for @NotionHQ portfolios in #designtwitter community. But what I think Notion would be a great tool for is online resume. Extensive, beefed-up version of resume with better content and use of white space, shapes, colors, and legible font size.
I'm super amazed that my very first #design portfolio I made on @carbonmade back in 2008 still exists! All of my work look terrible, but it's nice to see how far I've come. Thanks Carbonmade, please keep empowering designers to showcase our best work!
Why we ask whys:
"I need a drill."
"Why?"
"I need a well-drilled hole."
"Why?"
"I want to enjoy a picture hanging in my living room."
"How about a durable, double sided removable tape that can hold a picture frame *without* drilling a hole on your wall? #ux
Cold email: most speakers/industry leaders who advise you to use cold email as a way to success already had established connection and credibility. Just something to think about. #successtips
I'd place some indicator to add new card *at* the uneditable credit card field--it takes some time for our brain to change the way of thinking: from "edit" existing one to "add" new one to replace the existing one. #ux#ecommerce

More #product teams should have dedicated #uxresearch-ers by default because designers and product managers sometimes (if not often) get too attached to their ideas/assumptions/designs and sort of intimidate users during testing and interviews with personal biases.
@mwermuth What I do is set my rough working hours (i.e. 9-5 or 9-12, 7-11) and stick to it. Itโs flexible and changes all the time depending on the project Iโm on, who Iโm working closely with and when they usually work, and my personal life schedule (i.e. errands, appointments).
Over the weekend, I started re-reading The Design of Everyday Things. My impression: #UX fundamental really is platform agnostic in the digital world (web, mobile, watch, TV, etc), just like #design fundamental is design software agnostic (Sketch, Figma, Framer, XD, etc).
Hope this encourages more #design managers/execs not to keep score on *who* came up with the brilliant idea they decided to execute - itโs always a collaborative process.
The best developers I know
* value my design
* understand UX
* give me feedback before blindly implementing it
* donโt give up investigating what seems to be a challenge
* communicate frequently about progress
* offer trade-offs if needed
* explain their implementation challenges
Iโve seen teams treat user stories or/and acceptance criteria enough โUXโ to implement and ship a feature, resulting in many UX problems later on. UX acceptance criteria and integrated #UX in agile process is a good way to prevent that. https://t.co/nfptKcmJ0l
Reading isn't my cup of tea + I have limited time to do so like many others, so articles with "X min read" up top is the most innovative #design decision made in recent years IMO. @Medium, @interacting, @InVisionApp just to name a few.
