What ties the modern church to its ancient roots is not found in the buildings we erect, bells and smells, or special clothing, but in the doctrine we teach. Ancient practices mean nothing if they are not rooted in what Jesus and the apostles taught.
God did not create evil because evil is not a thing. It's the absence of a thing (the good). It's similar to coldness. Cold does not exist. It's just the absence of heat, and we call that absence "cold."
Forgiveness entrusts to God the justice that is due the person who wronged us. We transfer the responsibility for that justice from us to God, trusting that He will take care of it in His own timing. We no longer have to worry about it or let it interfere with our relationships.
The good news of the Gospel is not that you better be good enough to keep the salvation Jesus gave you. The good news of the Gospel is that the same Jesus who saved you by faith is the same Jesus who will keep you by faith.
