@halcyondaysGD congrats Andy...this is fantastic news! Well deserved and I look forward to seeing your ideas in action. I don't think they could have chosen anyone better as you know and love that garden so well.
Nearly 8 o’ clock in the evening and as I sit in my garden and watch the beautiful sunset, I feel a few breaths of cool air on my neck. Absolute bliss, as It’s first time all day I’ve not felt like dunking my head in a bucket of cold water as it has been quite humid.
@janeperrone Hi Jane,
Could you dm me the words you need pronouncing and your phone number and I will ask my lovely friend to send you a voice mail. I’m sure he’ll do it. Let’s hope the Xhosa word doesn’t begin with x .. I can pronounce it but it’s a bugger to pronounce!
The side gate to our 17th century thatched cottage abounds the Victorian brick wall to land beside the old village chapel. doesn’t see much sun but with the sun directly overhead for a brief while, pleasing patterns cast by the ivy shadows make me see this area in a new light
On a warm afternoon, I may be lying on the lawn with the dogs lolling beside me. My eyes will be firmly fixed skywards to my piece of sky as the clouds perform their daily dances. Tonight,more magic in the sky as the perseid meteor showers reach their peak from midnight -5.30am.
@claudiadeyong Quite … but still fun! The idea though of cycling, swimming and a bottle of rose in the evenings would be lovely though….hope you’re having a wonderful time!
Bucketing down with rain all day and I’ve been worrying about this beautiful hollohock. Aces Rosea Chaters Double Red has been swaying in the breeze but as the rain got heavier, the flowers were almost touching the ground, as if trying to win Ist prize in a limbo dancing contest.
A midweek baking day today.
#sourdough white and rye loaves and #shortbread are ready to eat. My 2 year old little helper decides he should be the one to perform a quality control and taste test - his verdict? “Yummy”
Love a slow morning Sunday. Sitting on the end of my bed watching the light flood through from the grandchildren’s bedroom.
Time to get up and seize the day, but I’ll just sit a moment more, remembering when my youngest was a baby sleeping here…
Waiting impatiently for Day 3 of #TheAshes2023 to start. A different cricket vibe on Wednesday though at one of my favourite cricket grounds in Leicestershire. with friends, sipping a gin & tonic with the most beautiful rural views in front of me & a win for#kilbygrobetrootters
There’s nothing quite so lovely as sitting out in the garden until 10 o’clock in the evening in a summer dress and yet feeling warm. Then walking through the green arch into the courtyard with the scent of jasmine still in the air….
