you're telling me a man who killed two people with a whole ass katana was arrested safely...but a Black man with a small knife + in a mental health crisis had to be killed?
@j2oachim been going through the same struggle looking into erasure of archives related to Black lives in Canada. lack of evidence is evidence of violence...
these are just questions i use to hold myself accountable and to create attainable meaningful goals without losing sight of the bigger issues that need to be tackled.
what actions are you taking, how are you interacting with this new knowledge in your day to day life, how are you engaging with your community to actively dismantle systemic racism?
@beckybeck69 yes to some of this...but also girls are put in situations where they are expected to be mature. girls are expected to clean up, to cook, etc. i don’t think we want to be considered as mature i think it’s expected of us so we perform it and internalize it
just think about it for a second.
we are protesting police brutality not as a handful of events but as a systematic issue. inviting the police to that march simply discredits decades of research and advocating for police brutality to be seen as a legitimate systematic issue.
