The @nytimes has failed in a number of ways. But today they spoiled the final of BakeOff by putting the winner's face on the front page of the website and i'm SAD.
asked about Rikers, Eric Adams just said: "People say, 'Eric you have deaths on Rikers.' Yeah, people commit suicide. People do drug overdoses."
Every death in NYC jails is preventable. No one should die at Rikers. @NYCMayor must not accept the crisis of mortality at Rikers.

Point of clarity: LGBTQ+ NYPD aren’t being excluded from the march. Their desire to march *in uniform* in it is the issue.
This is a *standing* ban that has been in place since 2020, not new.
+ It was harassment *by NYPD* that sparked the Stonewall rebellion that led to Pride.
