@billycostigansr@CaL__THFC@Kish_P14 How many dry loans has Brighton brought in over the last five years? I can think of one, Ansu Fati. It's not really part of their model.
@billycostigansr@CaL__THFC@Kish_P14 But we do have to care about Brighton & the player. At 19, he's played professionally in Croatia, Poland, Belgium, and Germany. What is next? Another year in Bundesliga prob doesn't help him progress. How many PL clubs would be willing to take him on loan, start him, w/o an ROI?
@sufferingspurs Has Van Hecke not agreed to transfer to us? It's all pretty standard.
The differing issue with MGW is that we executed a clause that was confidential information. We should have just offered over it to begin with and he would have been our player.
@andy_hawkswell@hbrooks_coach Agreed. It's not like he's picked any old club. This all looks like a case of bigger clubs all saying the same; we can't guarantee minutes. Brighton is willing too but requires a fee that allows them to sell-up for developing him.
@Spurs_Optimist@puckandrally That closed shop single tier system also provides a significant amount of parity.
Pro/rel would kill smaller market teams in a country this size.
@KidiabaPonyTail@JMS78 This. The data is very clear. Chelsea over performed for a period but they were paying big salaries while raiding other academies.
@CodenameDemola@MiguelDelaney LA is a 45 minute flight to Tijuana. Seattle is more problematic as it's 3 hours but that may just require them to stay in Vancouver which is an hour flight.
