@MUSICANDBUILDS Thoughts on the lack of reporting of some rappers/mcs about the current conditions of not only the people but the country as a whole ? (Hip Hop was created for the voiceless and I think overtime that mindset has been lost)
Every generation does respectability politics nonsense with black kids. And it starts with believing that they’re uniquely morally and socially deficient. When black kids are just like all other kids. The burden of racism should make you more sympathetic to them, not harsher.
I think for many longtime fans of the NBA, being able to see flaws in our superstars—LeBron in 2011, Magic in 1984, Jordan vs. Bad Boys—and then watch them evolve and overcome, is why we love the league. That’s what we want to see.
