@rossiadam Rate payers are still paying for the construction. It was never intended to stay open, but there was a date of completion tied to the funds.
Unions were working around the clock with unlimited OT to meet the completion date. They flipped the switch on then off.
There was perceived voter fraud in the wording of the ballot that removed Crabalaccia.
But this is wild to me. Friends say this is voted squarely based on geography not politics (FL was first voted off and constantly divided bc nobody wants it). OR and MN in the championship 😮
@FrontierBDesign I went to a bid walk and met a guy representing a large document management company. He had built and sold the exact same business to the exact same corporate buyer, three times.
@zanehengsperger We host interns and tech schools and unions and tell them all we would love to hire their graduates - all they need to do is go someplace else for 10 years and then we’ll steal the away with more money.
Interesting to see the platform user demographical tilt on Reddit vs X.
I wouldn’t imagine Oregon, Minnesota, and Vermont to be the 3 best voted states in head to head matchups on X.
@AOC I work for a billionaire and am underpaid relative to my output, and pay them rent in many ways - I do it because I have no risk and am comfortable with the comp package. That safety and non-owner lifestyle is part of my comp. Return to equity holders is the goal! Fair trade.
@BillDA Noticing this in a company (portco) I am currently trying to turnaround.
Major focus on core values in the holdco. All units struggling with sales.
There’s no HR, it’s replaced by People & Engagement. A mob that weaponizes core values to squelch high ego winners for “Family”
@chrissyfarr@nytimes@josh_tauber@keatonbedell “Needed regulation” I understand why that could be a popular opinion here. But we’d be better in the long run by encouraging critical thinking consumers.
@thesamparr I’ve been working for a family owned manufacturer for a year. Did $16M 3-years ago. Buddy took over 2 years ago. Gonna do over $100M this year. We use AI in precon and office, but our margin lives and dies with the guys in the shop. It’s all leadership. Profit is hard.
@ChrisRamsey60 Visited a buddy in Idaho who owned a gravel pit business for decades - now owns a clean fill dump spot location. And In 10 years when the pit is full, he’ll suddenly own the land for a big RE development.
