Today is the most complex day so far in #Kharkiv. Almost 2 hours in a row the whole city was bombed with tactical missiles. Historical center of Kharkiv is destroyed. #Russia bombed civilians only. My city is almost destroyed to ashes, but we still stand and will be!

Like last year, it has been quite a challenge to select only four books, because so many more amazing books have been published this year. But here they are, my favourites of 2024, which I think are here to stay and help us build better software together.
๐ "Wild West to Agile": The latest addition to this set probably has the most relevance for my current job / role, because it tells stories of people developing software systems in various and evolving contexts โ from the 1960s until today.
My favourite books on the history of IT and computing ๐๐พ๐จ๏ธ
๐ "Fire in the Valley" by Michael Swaine and Paul Freiberger
๐ "Konrad Zuse's Early Computers" by Raul Rojas
๐ "Unix, a History and a Memoir" by Brian Kernighan
๐ "Wild West to Agile" by Jim Highsmith
Thank you ๐
๐ "Unix, a History and a Memoir": Now that Unix and its variants are everywhere, it's just nice to learn about the people behind Unix and to see how it came to be in the last millenium.

๐งโ๐ฆฐ What problem?
๐จโ๐ผ Get this nail out of the wall.
๐งโ๐ฆฐ ...? We might need a different tool ...
๐จโ๐ผ But why? The hammer was your tool of choice some time ago when you were asked to drive the nail into the wall!?
