@Tony21863728581 @ernestdove Couldn’t agree more. Mendoza should be treating Vientos with the same patience as the Fab Four & McNeil. If those guys are slumping, Mendy lets them grind through it. Hoping that his presser saying that Vientos would be a big part of the rest of the season is indicative of that.

@BronxBombrs Comparing these 2 is comparing apples to oranges. So much about being an everyday catcher is measured separately or not at all. Raleigh has over a month to hit 2 home runs & break the season record for homers by a catcher, and is undoubtedly a top defensive catcher in baseball.

@jonsuarezdj @Mets I feel confident that if Baty and Vientos play consistently they will both see success. If the Mets hadn’t collapsed in the game where Vientos hit the grand slam against the Padres, the narrative around him would swing overwhelmingly positive. #stayswaggy

@Mets This should be the lineup going forward. Baty looks good in Aug (entire second half tbh) & Vientos is heating up. I understand that Mauricio may have the most talent & Marte is strong against lefties, but Ronny is too green and they’re not willing to play Marte everyday anyway.

@MetCastPod Is it really a massive hole tho? I’m confused why it’s not enough to put McNeil in CF, shift Nimmo to Left, then you’ve got Vientos at DH with Mauricio & Baty at 2nd and 3rd. Expecting these guys to perform everyday when they are in and out of the lineup seems unrealistic to me.

100%. My take is we don’t need to pick up a CF. Vientos at DH, Baty at 2nd, Mauricio at 3rd. Stick with these guys as the everyday players and give them the chance to lock in with consistency. We bolstered the bullpen immensely, if anything we should be looking for a starter.
