Big thanks to @lead1acom for hosting us in DC! Had an amazing time connecting with so many great leaders and discussing the future of college sports. Looking forward to what’s next!

Thank you @SilverWaveMedia for including me in this list of the 70 most impactful people in the NIL space!
There are a lot of incredible names on here.
Shoutout to @SportsBizMiss who has largely helped @basepathNIL & also deserves this recognition. https://t.co/qktqhHSALX

Thanks @DanMurphyESPN for mentioning @BasepathNIL in this @ESPN article on Title IX and revenue sharing.
Like Dan says in this article, coaches and ADs want guidance on managing their budgets, rosters and revenue-sharing distributions.

This bill was passed across party lines. For the NCAA and congress to create a special employment class for athletes or deny them employment status, a red wave in the upcoming election would be necessary.
The House Ed & Work Force Committee has voted to advance a Republican-backed bill that exempts college athletes from employment.
The legislation is now one step away from a vote on the floor of the US House of Representatives.

This makes the most sense given that conferences have far more sellable assets. The breath of their asset base is wider and one that private equity could monetize more effectively.
Private equity is coming to college athletics.
As detailed in this article, the Big 12 is considering an equity investment of up to $1 billion for 20% of the conference.
Another example demonstrating that college athletes are professional athletes.

Our first NIL session at @NACDA today is on athletic department - collective relations. We have @Russell_White from @tca_nil, Gary Veron from BYU, Jacob Schmidt from TrueNU and Thomas Thomas from @basepathNIL.
Incredibly excited to launch our new #BasepathGM Product, built with support & feedback from our partners & stakeholders. A primary feature of the product is providing insights into the market value of athletes, so we're sharing some D1 data points. https://t.co/7Os7WX982x
We've been involved in a number of discussions with our collective partners and the athletic departments they support that are navigating the transition into "agencies."
Also, liability mitigation (Title IX, employment, FOIA, etc.) is a real thing for athletic departments.
Intended to eliminate collectives, the NCAA’s settlement has triggered their next evolution.
Many are transitioning into university-funded “marketing agencies,” positioning schools to circumvent the cap & mitigate legal risks.
Has a loophole been found?

We've been working for months with a number of great partners preparing for this moment - whether you're trying to pay athletes, fundraise, manage your university-collective relationship, working through roster/budget distributions, the list goes on - we're here to help.
This is a really exciting day for student-athletes, universities, collectives, and all key stakeholders in the industry. We are entering a new world of college athletics!
The NCAA and its leagues are moving forward with a multibillion-dollar settlement agreement that will allow schools to directly pay players for the first time in the history of college sports. https://t.co/XaVgW9306B
There are countless questions and uncertainties on how athletic departments, collectives, and others will operationalize these changes - Basepath helps you work through those.
