'Micheál Martin does this thing where he's very careful, like most politicians, with his words. But this time wasn't careful enough.

'He was in Philadelphia for his Trump administration visit for St Patrick's Day, and he was asked as Gaeilge what was going on with Shannon in the context of the war Iran. And he said there were no weapons going through Shannon Airport.

'He said that the chartered flights that we've been reporting on – airlines like Omni Air, chartered flights with troops on them under the command of the US military allowed to pass through Shannon Airport. But he said they are only flights coming back from the Middle East.

'He said there's nothing wrong with that. And he said that there are no weapons on board. A couple of days later we got confirmation from the Department of Transport that that's not true.

'So he was lying when he said that. We said it as it is. We don't hold back. He lied. He said there no weapons going through Shannon. There are weapons.'
