We show that Sr diffusion in plagioclase is slower than previously thought and similar to that of Ba. Applying our new diffusivities reveals long, consistent timescales for both elements—recording magma reservoir assembly!

We investigated the physicochemical evolution of intermediate to felsic melts and highlighted the occurrence of a biotite-forming peritectic reaction potentially important during crystal-melt segregation!
