@jonhoo @supermoose666 @evestera Safe! I scratched together a meetup event now (https://t.co/c9G1j8Okgy) ๐๐ผ Hope you donโt mind that I referenced you in the description, @jonhoo? I was gonna ask you first, but mustโve missed the โsave as draftโ button ๐๐
@jonhoo @supermoose666 @evestera Sick! Yeah, we can definitely pull something off in that timeframe, especially if itโs just a socializing thing โ donโt even have to book a room for that ๐ฅณ Next Thursday work for you?
Started prepping for my NDC talk on building games with @rustlang recently and went trough the @BevyEngine tut. Turns out there's a couple extra hoops you have to jump through on NixOS and I couldn't find them documented anywhere, so I wrote them down ๐ค https://t.co/OggMlO1dgw
@badboy_@stefanjudis@firefox Did some digging, found that there's multiple open issues on the github about this issue, such as this one: https://t.co/jHn8ZbjgNJ
It's a bit of a shame, because it makes the feature much less useful when you also use containers ๐ค
@badboy_@stefanjudis@firefox It seems that using Firefox multi-account containers messes with this: it only shows tabs that use the same account container as the current tab. Do you know if there is a way to get around that?
I can see why it might be a limitation, but it also makes it a lot less useful ๐
Encountered a checkout form that doesn't register if you accept terms and conditions with a keyboard (and doesn't have focus states for the checkbox!). To accept, you must click the checkbox with a mouse: It's wired up to an event listener that fires on click and toggles state ๐
Just realized Iโve been pinging the wrong person (someone *completely* unrelated) in a GitHub issue over the past month because their GitHub username is the same as the internal username for the person I *wanted to* reach ๐๐
Thankfully, they seemed to take it very well ๐
@Foone Yup! Star Wars: Rogue Squadron and Cher ๐คท๐ผ My mother played a lot of Cher around the time I was playing Rogue Squadron as a kid, so whenever I hear Believe, If I Could Turn Back Time, etc, I have visions of X-wings ๐
@thisweekdayroom @GretchenAMcC@superlinguo Oh, I got it! It was explained in the latest Lingthusiasm episode ๐ For posterity: the point was that the author of W the Pooh had a non-rhotic accent, so Eeyore sounds like the sound a donkey makes! ๐ The Norwegian translators mustโve missed that when they named him Tussi ๐คท๐ผ
@thisweekdayroom @GretchenAMcC@superlinguo Wait, hang on, Iโm lost ๐ Can you explain this to me? Is there a portmanteau or terrible pun Iโm missing? The only connection I can make is โeyesoreโ, and Iโm not sure thatโs the right one ๐คท๐ผ
@natension Yup. Switched from Norwegian qwerty to US qwerty, which makes a huge difference for programming. Then I went with programmer Dvorak, which is still US-centric, I suppose ๐คท๐ผ Hitting alt + shift + 7 for a โ{โ gets tiresome after a while ๐
