Sean Penn didn't attent the #oscar ceremony because he couldn't spend a single second without smoking a cigarette.
Can't believe I'm breaking my twitter hiatus for this. Anyway, fuck Elon Musk.
Shame on @ABC for suspending Terry Moran for his tweet about Stephen Miller. The tweet was accurate and, frankly, too kind to Miller, who is a frothing-at-the-mouth white supremacist. ABC News' move is complicit cowardice, caving to Trump's fascism.
There is a common fallacy that autocrats expand government to expand their power, but it's usually the opposite. They contract the circle of decision-making to their offices & person into what is called a power vertical. Loyalists holding multiple positions is a standard symptom.
Incredible replies here…
Daryl Hannah says “Glory to Ukraine,” and it’s a slew of snarky attacks from American Trump supporters (not bots).
She didn’t say, “F**k Trump.” She didn’t slam JD Vance. She just said, “Glory to Ukraine.”
There are people demanding that she join the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as if she’s suggesting that American troops be put in harm’s way.
It’s a fascinating, fascinating reaction—one that should be studied.
I’ve been repeatedly told that MAGA isn’t anti-Ukrainian, just that they don’t want taxpayer dollars being used.
So why is “Glory to Ukraine” so offensive?
Especially from an actor who isn’t just an award-show activist but has been a dedicated activist for many, many years.
@oldfilmsflicker He had four opportunities to condemn Russia's genocide in Ukraine and address the fact that his film features two Russian actors (Eydelshteyn, Yurisov) who have worked on Kremlin-sponsored projects in occupied Crimea. No one in Anora has spoken out publicly against the war.
@Variety She didn't shout out Ukraine, despite hugging Mark Eydelshteyn and Yuriy Borisov before accepting the award. Both Borisov and Eydelshteyn are complicit in Russia's genocide in Ukraine and have worked on Kremlin propaganda in Russian-occupied Crimea. All complicit in genocide.
@Lilfilm Before going up to accept her award, Mikey Madison hugs Mark Eydelshteyn and Yuriy Borisov, both guilty of working on Kremlin-sponsored propaganda in Russian-occupied Crimea. No mention of Ukraine in a week where America abandoned it. @Lilfilm@neonrated
.@Lilfilm just won an Oscar for the Anora screenplay. Baker didn't say a word about Ukraine, despite employing multiple actors complicit in Russia's genocide in Ukraine. When will any of the cowards involved in this movie address this?
I would bet my life savings that Putin has photos of Lindsey Graham's ladybugs (google it). A spineless shit, utterly without principles or dignity. The definition of a coward.
President Trump stood up to being lectured by President Zelensky, whose behavior was beyond unacceptable and whose lectures are wearing thin.
The same people who are panicking over President @realDonaldTrump and Vice President @JDVance’s handling of President Zelensky yesterday in the Oval Office are the ones who allowed Putin to roll through Ukraine.
@winnipegtransit@ScottGillingham@JaniceLukes 66 arrived at 3:36, 5 mins behind schedule. It's pretty full, I got one of two vacant seats. It's the only bus that goes down Grant Ave, a pretty major route with a mall and movie theatre. Do you think *maybe* it should come more than once every 20+ minutes?
For anyone wondering, @winnipegtransit never did anything to fix the 66. Came to Osborne Station at 3:15 to catch a southbound 66 for a 3:50 movie time at Grant Park. You'd think 35 mins would be plenty of time, but there is exactly one 66 schedule in that time. Due at 3:31.
Can anyone at @winnipegtransit explain why there isn't a single eastbound bus scheduled to show up at Grant and Rockwood for at least 35 minutes? Like, people at the mall just can't go....anywhere?
@winnipegtransit@ScottGillingham@JaniceLukes Someone should do a scientific study to figure out the minimum distance one needs to travel before it becomes faster to take @winnipegtransit than it ro s to walk. I routinely spend over an hour taking transit to destinations that are <30min walk.
