She shouldn't be "required" to do anything. But she should want to contribute more than just financially. She should be reasonable and loving, as should he. Is it reasonable to do 50% of all housework and earn 100% of the income? Probably not in most circumstances. But what if they have a special needs child? Or have decided together for him to forfeit his career to be superdad to the kids, knowing it is a strain on him. Then yes. Now, if the dad was home playing video games all day and expected to only do 50% of the housework, that would not be reasonable. Every family is different, and there should be no universal rules applied.
