On the web app, I Also see that the station is supposedly "disconnected", and there's no numerical values in the quick view on the right. However, the graph shows up to date data for everyone. It's pretty confusing 😵‍💫

@HariKa65612824 @what_if_cork To be fair, I can't imagine anyone will be enjoying their time at the bus station, but your wider point definitely stands. There's a massive phobia of public spaces in this country!

@conndonovan9 It is vitally important for this positive trend to be reinforced, & that is something where I feel cycling & public transport campaigners need to step up, especially since the system is apparently up for tender in 2024. I love blogging, but there's only so many posts I can write

@conndonovan9 Notice anything about the tenor of these articles? Yep, they're all negative. I'm not going to deny that the system has issues. I still use it almost daily to bridge the gap between Grand Parade and Penrose Dock, where I work, so I experience those issues first hand. 1/3

@conndonovan9 And yes, it's important to point out those issues. But it's equally important to point out that the system on the whole works, and it works well. Every time I'm in the city, I see TFI bikes on the street now, something that would have been rare during the Coke Zero Bikes days 2/3

@conndonovan9 Also, where were you and the other "cycling advocates" when it came to push TFI Bikes? I've been shouting from the rooftops about it here, on my blog, on Instagram, but I've NEVER seen YOU, Cork Cycling Campaign or ANY active travel campaigner in the city even mention it!

@conndonovan9 What you conveniently forget to mention is that South Main Street is due for refurbishment, the same goes for Morrison's Quay, while Coburg Street was recently refurbished and seems to still be receiving some finishing touches. Western Road is an issue, but not a major one 1/2

@DanSmithwi78443 @EoinBearla I get you, but as someone who works down there, the vast open space really makes the entire area feel unfinished. This'll get the entire development a whole lot closer to completion and will make it feel more alive, rather than just another office ghetto

@CllrFionaRyan Either barriers or bollards that open only for buses and emergency vehicles. Drivers like that will only learn through force. Even ANPR cameras will be ineffective unless the fines even for first time offenders are absolutely crippling.

@Buseireann You'll forgive me if I don't hold my breath. Been using your service for over a decade down here in Cork, and every short-term improvement has been followed by a long drawn-out decline in service quality. Maybe it's the local management, but I've just been let down too many times

@Buseireann There's nothing to talk about! Your company is incapable of operating a reliable bus service down here in Cork, your drivers clearly don't care about their job and your staff down here have even actively conspired to prevent me from getting back my wallet!
