#MCFC’s key defence in its appeal over the Premier League guilty verdict was denied by its own title sponsor Etihad Airways in an extensive submission to the US government in 2015

Across the nine seasons they were accused of not providing accurate information, Manchester City spent £1.943billion on wages, over £100m more than any other English club. In 17 Abu Dhabi-controlled years to the end of 2024-25, their combined wage bill was £4.963bn.
At Manchester United and Chelsea, the next-highest combined bills in England, the figure is around £600m lower. It is a staggering difference.
Since 2009-10 (the first season the charges relate to), the Premier League has dished out more than £6bn in merit payments to 42 different clubs. City received £559.6m (9%).
They have played in the Champions League every year from 2011-12 onwards, achieving qualification in eight of the nine years the charges spanned.
Such qualification naturally means others missed out. On that particular measure, Tottenham Hotspur were worst hit, landing one spot outside of the Champions League on four occasions during that spell. Their Europa League earnings from those occasions totalled a combined £28.8million; City made £141m from the Champions League in the same seasons.
It is not just those fighting for titles or European spots who may feel they’ve missed out. What of the beaten cup finalists? What of the clubs who might have avoided relegation if City’s results were scrubbed out?

Infantino tells fans not to worry, because the game won’t change. But it already has, with adverts in the middle of each half, tickets that cost more than rent, and politicians influencing outcomes.
The game cannot remain in his hands.
2nd, debt free, able to spend on whatever and whoever we wanted.
Now 8th. A billion in debt.
Not for a new stadium.
Not for new players.
Simply because the name on the letter head changed.
Banks enriched.
One family enriched.
A legacy ruined.
Should never have been legal.
This game was two weeks ago - what good does this do? It's just a reminder that Manchester United were robbed of two points & this goal in the 27th minute would've totally changed the game against Burnley.
Everyone could see at the time that Kyle Walker dived. It was clear in real time & on replay. Where is the actual accountability? The consequences shouldn't only be for the club affected by @FA_PGMOL's incompetence.
How costly could this mistake be in a tight season?
Fuck off Gary - you havn't helped one bit and quite frankly Manchester United supporters are sick to death of hearing your opinions.
18 months ago it was "Manchester United need a manager with a system"
Now its "Manchester United need a manager that fits the DNA of the club"
How's about Manchester United need the Glazers to fully fuck off?
How about stop telling Manchester United what they need when you can't even sort out Salford?
How's about Manchester United need you and your shitty employers to stop obsessing and over analysing everything the Utd manager does?
How about being fair in your punditry and treating managers of United how you treat managers of Spurs, Liverpool and just about every other club?
Just a thought?
Troy Deeney on Amorim's sacking.
"One of shock. I'm a big Amorim fan. He's done things wrong but he's tried to create a foundation for Man Utd to be long-term successful. Getting rid of Rashford, Garnacho. Player power overrule it."
Dropping facts!
MCFC have been punished, twice, for egregious financial cheating (2014, 2020). They await a verdict on 115+ more counts, on which their lawyers are stalling. There is NO doubt they're a brilliant team with an all-time great manager. But they are cheats.

🇵🇹 Ruben Amorim at Manchester United this season:
▪️ "He's not the man for the job"
▪️ "He doesn't get the club"
▪️ "His system doesn't suit the players"
▪️ 25 points in the league
🇮🇹 Enzo Maresca at Chelsea this season:
▪️ "He's really growing into the role"
▪️ "His passion is incredible"
▪️ "He handles the squad well"
▪️ 25 points in the league
Perception is key. 🔑
He laughed because he knew the angle the reporter is trying to spin
They’re using Mainoo as a stick to beat him with
Because they know player FC will be all over it

—Under Mourinho (4-2-3-1): “Outdated, parking the bus.”
—Under Ole (4-2-3-1): “No tactics & individual brilliance.”
—Under Rangnick (4-2-2-2): “Who even plays this diamond nonsense?”
—Under Ten Hag (4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3): “Boring. Disrespected Ronaldo. Killed De Gea.”
—Under Amorim (3-4-2-1): “System doesn’t work. Change formation!”
The media through ALL of this:“Manager has lost the dressing room.”
The only thing that never changes at this club: Fans arguing about tactics and the media running the same tired storyline over and over again. Different managers, different players… same cycle every year.
What’s the real problem and how can we solve it? 👇
Hey @Carra23 and @GNev2, when are you scheduling an interview with Arne Slot questioning about his tactics after spending £450m in the summer.
Or does it only apply to Manchester United managers ?
Hi, @TheAthleticFC.
Arne Slot has lost 4 games in a row now. We are expecting you to send a body language expert to Anfield and analyse him.
Will you do that or only Ruben Amorim and Manchester United give you the attention you need?
De pinligste fire minutter i dansk tv-historie. Omsider gjorde DR det rigtige, nemlig at konfrontere Mette Fredriksen med de nye oplysninger i SMS-sagen. Gået gået Kåre Quist.

Dutch talk-show host Lubach put together an absolutely savage takedown of Disney after they bowed down to the Trump administration to take Jimmy Kimmel off the air
It took Klopp 4 years to start competing
It took arteta 5 years and £1BN
but you give Amorim, who has a distinct style of play, 9 months and want him sacked..
Pathetic fanbases.
