Welcome LeRobot! the first robotics library at Hugging Face 🔥

Over the past months, we saw impressive research breakthroughs in robotics (ALOHA, diffusion policies, UMI and so many) enabling robots behaviors previously thought impossible to train with limited quantity of data and small team

We also saw huge private investments in a stream of great robotics teams show-casing mind-blowing behavior for coming commercial robots

We feel like it's time to help a much larger open-source community to emerge in robotics and connect/merge with the recent progress in LLM and multimodal models bringing all the diversity/excitation of community there

As always we're see our role here as civil servant of the community, to help and catalyse the work in the field, providing easier access to models, datasets and working implementations, education material. Gathering disparate formats and solution when possible and providing open-source solutions that will be maintained in the long term.

I'm personally very excited about Lerobot because it's something I've been dreaming for several years (unifying robotics/RL datasets and models, simulation and real-world), attempted a few times without success (the simulates library) and seeing @RemiCadene with @alibert_s and @asoare159 pushing such a strong and well thought-out library is very very exciting to me.
