@Real_MZubair This is not sugar being exported from the private sector, it’s from the governments own Trading Commission. Private sector was fully sidelined in this entire procedure. Even now, we sit on a serious sugar surplus of 1.3M tons, and export is not being allowed for priv sector.

@81ShahbazRana This is from their own Trading Commission. Has nothing to do with private sector, which was not allowed to be involved in the import of sugar. Right now, Pakistan has a surplus for 1.1-1.3M tons of sugar, going into another year with 10-15% production increase. Export needed

@MiftahIsmail Valid but that doesn't cancel the crisis ahead. We're sitting on 1.3M tons surplus, prices below cost of production. Without exports, mills can't survive, cane sells below cost, farmers go unpaid. Allow export of half the surplus to protect farmers, save the industry, and earn FX

Honourable Justices Mansoor Ali Shah & Athar Minallah did the honourable thing by resigning as judges of the Supreme Court. It would have been impossible for them to function according to their conscience & vision under the new circumstances. Both judges were the most intellectually endowed & independent-minded. This is a great loss of Pakistani judiciary!
