SPF Chair David Threadgold: “Police Scotland is at the point – and it was acknowledged publicly by the chief – where we are going to have to do something different. We have to become more selfish as an organisation" https://t.co/LJ9zdwiPHd

ALIGN with existing EU and NON EU mental-health initiatives grounded in trauma-informed, preventive practice

Emma - Louise Richardson, Assistant to the General Secretary of the SPF, reflects on a powerful scene in Relentless about a bereaved child - a moment she can deeply empathise with as a mother of four.
She says officers often relate to incidents through their own home life and experiences.
The film has also drawn emotional responses from politicians, and Emma encourages that this emotion be used to provide our police officers with the support they need.

Attending the launch of the @ScotsPolFed 2026 manifesto in Edinburgh. Lots of the same issues as @PoliceServiceNI - ineffective single year budgets, detrimental impact of reduced police numbers on community policing teams, lip service to officer safety and wellbeing provisions, political resistance to increased taser roll out, excessive non- criminal mental health demand #Relentless
