I could’ve applied EQ in post to get as close as I could, but I would rather be as accurate as possible than guess at a component of the chain I have no way of knowing about. Imagine these captures as being as close as possible to the raw recordings before mixing + mastering.

These captures can’t sound *exactly* like the soundtrack… but you *can* sound exactly like you’re playing through the same equipment, and they’re as close as you can get.

Once the test signal was recorded, I uploaded it to Tone3000’s website, where it was run through NAM’s machine learning process. NAM is an open-source program that produces captures much like the Quad Cortex or TONEX or LINE 6’s Stadium units.

This pack captures the VHT Valvulator and LINE 6 POD 2.0.

On SA2, Senoue used a POD Pro, the rack form of the 2.0, with the same firmware.

The Valvulator is a tube buffer Senoue ran his guitars through to “liven up” the POD and help it respond more dynamically.

I used a Lehle P-Split III as my reamp box to send the test signal out from my DAW to the rig. It’s totally transparent and doesn’t color the sound in any way.

- More models (such as the clean guitars in Live & Learn) will be added if enough people request them.

- PODxt captures are on the way in a few weeks or so.

- If you do not play guitar and use guitar VSTs, you can run them through these captures if you can use a DI sound

It was used to record "Open Your Heart", "Live & Learn", "What I'm Made Of...", "Knight of the Wind", and hundreds more.

Its active HSS design was likely inspired by session guitarists like Steve Lukather.

@dickiehat He has a Peavey 5150 from 1992 that he uses exclusively for live and demo work. For recording, he uses Soldano, Mesa, Suhr, and Friedman. From around 2001 to 2008 he used LINE 6 POD Pro and PODxt units.

I swapped out for an SDE-3 today. Sounds great. New compact form of the Roland SDE-3000. Senoue used the more affordable SDE-1000 during SA1.

Going with this layout. I'd like to swap the DD-6 for an SDE-3 at some point. The SLO and Axiom PAE-2 sound incredible together.

I had the opportunity to play through a real Soldano SLO-100 head, so of course I set the knobs to Jun Senoue's preferred settings and played some Sonic Adventure songs. It's a very smooth, easy-to-play amplifier.

testing same NAM captures @atelierjoshua made of the original line 6 pod. apparently it's the same schecter super rock pickup too so it sounds pretty close i guess.
