Ίσως το σημαντικότερο hack στην ιστορία του Bitcoin. Το bitcoin δεν έχει τίποτα να προσφέρει αν αφαιρέσουμε το self custody. To coldcard hack, λοιπόν κτυπάει στον πυρήνα του Β.

Δεν έχει τόση σημασία που δεν ανταποκρίνεται η τιμή στην σοβαρότητα της κατάστασης. Δεν υπάρχει liquidity event, όπως όταν καταρρέει ένα exchange. Αλλά προσωπικά το θεωρώ πιο σοβαρό ακριβώς επειδή υπονομεύτηκε ο πυρήνας της χρηστικότητας του πρωτοκόλλου.

Σκεφτόμουν ότι ίσως θα ήταν χρήσιμο να συζητήσουμε για την εντροπία των κλειδιών, σε ένα live στο μέλλον. Για να μην έχει κανείς αμφιβολία, αν υπάρχει ασφαλές self custody (αδιαμφησβήτητα υπάρχει) και ίσως να το κάνουμε στο μέλλον.

Το κλίμα στην κοινότητα είναι άσχημο όπως το εκλαμβάνω. Ήδη άρχισαν οι φωνές, ότι το self custody πέθανε για σοβαρά ποσά... Αυτή η μέρα αν θα έρθει θα είναι άσχημη για εμάς. Μιας και θα σήμαινε τον θάνατο του πρωτοκόλλου, τουλάχιστον ως προς το μη κερδοσκοπικό σκέλος... που είναι και όλη η ουσία.

Αλλά δεν είναι ακόμα εδώ και δεν φαίνεται και στον ορίζοντα. Αν κάποιος έχει πάθει ζημιά από το hack και θεωρεί ότι μπορώ να βοηθήσω τα dms είναι ανοικτά. όπως πάντα. Ακόμα και αν έχετε απορίες και νιώθετε ανασφάλεια για το τρόπο αποθήκευσης... μην διστάσετε.

Τέτοιες στιγμές πρέπει η κοινότητα να βγαίνει μπροστά και να αποδεικνύει το antifragility στην πράξη.
