@ClayTravis We played Mexico in the round of 16 in 2002. A team we know very well and are competitive with/beat often. These European teams are on a different tier than Mexico
@newyorkcityfc@Matty_Ice49@USMNT@MLS The starting keeper for the USMNT playing for the 8th placed team in the eastern conference in MLS should have told us all we needed to know before tonight
@ClayTravis It’s not just about kids. If we want soccer to succeed in America parents and coaches have to play their part in helping them develop. You can’t just “throw them into the youth soccer system” if it doesn’t exist. They have to be coached by someone that knows what they’re doing
@ClayTravis So you make youth soccer more affordable so everyone can play. Who’s gonna coach them? Anyone with a ball can play soccer. You can’t have thousands of more kids play without supplying them with adequate coaches and expect them to automatically be better
@ShaneRyanHere ITS THE ROUND OF 16. How much mental fortitude do you think they need to beat teams like Spain, France, Argentina to win the World Cup? You don’t win the World Cup on “good vibes” you win because you are better than the team you’re playing, period
Only 8 teams have ever won the World Cup. I think this edition proved what has always been the case for the USMNT. We may be one of the best 16 teams in the world every 4 years, we are not one of the best 8. Always has been and always will be. That’s football
