@WallStreetMav The whole existing system was set up to benefit Democrats'established power.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Jimmy Carter in 2005 on voter ID: "It will not restrict people from voting."
He even described Voter ID as “a move forward in getting more people to vote."
Republicans need to share this video far and wide. Voter ID was bipartisan then. It should be bipartisan now.
Most downtown Seattle businesses are GONE because of leftist rule.
Starbucks
Old Navy
The Loft
And many more GONE.
They left because of crime and homelessness & now most of downtown Seattle is VACANT.
How SAD.
I expect Mamdani's public grocery stores will not offer significant price discounts relative to budget grocers. Thinking about his mandate they make things cheaper reminded me of "parchment guarantees" and this speech from Justice Scalia.
This also states it well...
The pardon put Fauci in a position where he could either testify truthfully and face no prosecution, or invoke the Fifth and face a contempt charge.
Obviously, Fauci decided telling the truth was more dangerous (even with no fear of prosecution) than facing prosecution with a contempt charge.
Why? That's the question.
Confession: I’m not as hardcore angry as some people are over COVID. Or I wasn’t anyways, for a while.
To me it was always this weird thing that came out of nowhere and judging peoples’ reactions to it or, worse, assuming their motives, struck me as slightly disingenuous.
The problem for me came when the evidence that COVID wasn’t a mass extinction event started piling up, yet our policies remained the same.
At that point I knew that these policies, guided by Fauci and Weingarten and others, were not aimed at our comfort or safety but rather remained in place because they both satisfied massive egos and were politically advantageous to Democrats.
And from then on I viewed every bit of suffering as almost entirely preventable, and I’ve never been able to forgive the people who let it, nay willed it, to happen.
My anger is in no way satiated by the fact that not only are these people walking freely among us, but they’re even celebrated as heroes by half the country.
It is amazing, yet not surprising, that for all the left’s protestations about “injustice” they purposely overlook, even celebrate, the most egregious abuse of power in my lifetime.
I have resigned myself to the fact that nothing will happen to these people in terms of facing justice.
Not in this life anyways.
As for the next one, well, good luck pleading the Fifth buddy.
Just a psa: You came here screaming “they’ll kill me if I go back!” Ok. You can stay and seek asylum.
The asylum ends the second you send cash back, wave their flag, or book a vacation to the “death trap”you escaped.
Pick a lane. We’re not running a hotel for frauds.
