@CityPowerJhb could you please check into my logged fault. The call ref is CPWEB4857629.
This was logged on Saturday. Monday morning I received an SMS that it had been resolved, yet no one came or even called. I then logged a subsequent fault.
Thank you.
@CityPowerJhb Thank you so much for the quick response.
The call reference number CPWEB4857629 is a newly logged fault that appears as an “open fault” in the system.
This collapse is largely to weakened trade winds which normally drive the upwelling. Without sufficient wind, surface water isn’t driven away and deep nutrient rich cold water can’t rise.
The cause warmer surface waters, lower nutrient supply which is horrible for marine life.
GPT-5 just casually did new mathematics.
Sebastien Bubeck gave it an open problem from convex optimization, something humans had only partially solved. GPT-5-Pro sat down, reasoned for 17 minutes, and produced a correct proof improving the known bound from 1/L all the way to 1.5/L.
This wasn’t in the paper. It wasn’t online. It wasn’t memorized. It was new math. Verified by Bubeck himself.
Humans later closed the gap at 1.75/L, but GPT-5 independently advanced the frontier.
A machine just contributed original research-level mathematics.
If you’re not completely stunned by this, you’re not paying attention.
We’ve officially entered the era where AI isn’t just learning math, it’s creating it. @sama@OpenAI@kevinweil@gdb@markchen90
A new theoretical model suggests that the combination of gravity and quantum fluctuations alone may explain the origin of structure in the early universe, potentially eliminating the need for an inflaton field.
This minimalist approach proposes that the interaction between quantum ripples and gravity could have triggered the rapid expansion and seeded the cosmic structures we observe today.
With fewer assumptions and strong predictive power, the model opens the door to clearer tests through future observations, such as gravitational wave data, which could confirm or disprove its validity.

@CityPowerJhb
We’ve now endured 8 days of no power for the last 9 days in Glenhazel.
Kindly let us know what the delay is. What is being done. How mush longer before the power is restored.

@CityPowerJhb
We have only had power for 1 day (Tuesday) for the last 8 days in Glenhazel. This is really hard to absorb.
Kindly let us know what is going on..
There are some old folk down the road who are struggling enormously.
Many thanks

@CityPowerJhb
It’s been hard for us in Glenhazel.
Friday: No power
Saturday: No power
Sunday: No power
Monday: No power
Tuesday: *Power*
Wednesday: No power
Today: No power
It’s harder because we are not updated at all. Last feedback was yesterday morning saying parts of Glenhazel still down.

@CityPowerJhb
Glenhazel is again without power. We were down from last week Thursday night to Monday morning.
Kindly let us know what the ETR is or if a technician has been sent to resolve the issue.
CPWEB4717821
@CityPowerJhb There has been no power since Thursday night. There are no updates, and those who query this fault here are completely ignored.
Kindly give us an update.
