@pierceboggan@davidfowl@gimenete For custom endpoints, supporting alternative authentication mechanisms (such Entra ID or via azcli) would be extremely beneficial for enterprise use cases.
In our scenario, our endpoint is secured by Entra ID using JWT tokens rather than opaque API tokens.

Modern hardware is fast, but software often fails to leverage it. Caer Sanders guides his work with mechanical sympathy. He distills this into principles: predictable memory access, awareness of cache lines, single-writer, natural batching

Encryption is kind of a lie.
Data can be encrypted at rest, and even in transit…but not “in use”.
Fundamentally, CPUs execute arithmetic instructions on decrypted plaintext; even with secure enclaves.
But what if we got *really* clever:
#MCP servers (Model Context Protocol) are very hot right now. The #Kusto team contributed into two MCP servers that can be used to connecto to #MicrosoftFabric#Eventhouse or to @AzDataExplorer. Check them out:
New fastest shortest-path algorithm in 41 years!
Tsinghua researchers broke Dijkstra’s 1984 “sorting barrier,” achieving O(m log^(2/3) n) time. This means faster route planning, less traffic, cheaper deliveries, and more efficient networks - and a CS curriculum revamp =)
Why have you been stuck at the Senior Eng. level for so long?
After sitting on 50+ Staff+ promotion committees and performance calibrations as a Director from 2019–2024, here are the patterns I've identified & clustered that show up again and again.

Note that the biggest reduction in memory usage probably doesn't come from DATAS itself, but from GCConserveMemory, which is enabled automatically when enabling DATAS (but can also be enabled alone).
GCConserveMemory has been backported to .net 4.8, so legacy applications are getting some love.
Software development is the art of replicating the atypical architecture choices made by Google, Facebook, or Netflix into trivial projects with modest requirements.
