One week ago, my routine ob visit turned into a severe preeclampsia diagnosis and a crash, unplanned c-section to bring Anastasija into the world almost a month early (and about an hour after @TimothyDoescher flew home last minute from business in Florida). Our little Annie is a firecracker, but despite otherwise pristine vitals, she proved just too tuckered out to fully feed herself, necessitating an admission to the NICU on her first day. 29 hours after delivering her, I was limping between the maternity ward and the NICU, and on Mother's Day, we were discharged to go home without our little girl. I'll be back in the pages of the Examiner & annoying you on TV later this summer, but right now, getting Annie out of the hospital is my full time job. I cannot thank so many you enough for the well wishes and prayers ❤️ The feeding fatigue aside, Annie is thriving with a wonderful prognosis -- she has the world's greatest dad and a very, very, very tired mother who loves her beyond measure. I'm confident we'll be out into the world shortly, and I know that Annie can't wait to meet everyone as soon as she can
For the next 5 weeks, Tiana's Take in the @dcexaminer mag will feature special guest columnists you've watched on TV, read in your economics textbooks, and probably follow here! Up first, check out @RyanPaynePCM on Kevin Warsh vs. the Bond Gods https://t.co/ZmEF7uXfq2
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent clarifies he never threatened to punch Bill Pulte in the face.
“I actually said I was going to kick his a–," Bessent told the Senate Finance committee.
After 3 weeks, Anastasija has graduated from the NICU! @TimothyDoescher and I couldn’t be more grateful for a NICU team that let us camp out for 14 hours a day next to baby Annie, let Mom recover from a c-section while constantly butting into rounds, and help Annie fulfill a perfectly wonderful and normal prognosis. Now for the first time in 3 weeks, Annie and I got to hang out in bed, in pajamas, together at 10am, with absolutely nowhere to go for a minute ❤️ Looking forward to seeing the whole, wide world outside of the NICU through Annie’s beautiful and not-so-slightly shocked eyes 🤣

Saturday afternoon in the NICU. @TianaTheFirst is an outstanding mother, spending 12 hours every day pouring into Annie’s life. She puts her family first, and is such an inspiration! (She’s reading the Waterloo portion of Les Misérables, and doesn’t know I’m posting this 🤓)
Annnnnnd of course she’s the best mum in the world (totally unbiased). When @TianaTheFirst held her, Annie opened her eyes and smiled, then frowned, then smiled, then frowned, then went back to sleep.
After all of the commotion, I made it back to DC. Five min later I was in scrubs, 20 min after that, Anastasija (Annie) was born. A tiny but LOUD 5 lbs 6 oz. @TianaTheFirst did great!
Today, our partner, the UAE, was once again the target of a vicious missiles and drone attacks originating from Iran.
I extend my full solidarity to @MohamedBinZayed, the people of the UAE, and our partners across the Middle East.
These attacks are unacceptable and constitute a clear violation of sovereignty and international law.
Security in the region has direct consequences for Europe.
So we will keep working closely with our partners on de-escalation and diplomatic resolution, to bring an end to the Iranian regime’s brutal actions.
Both against its neighbors and its own people.
We've officially reached the lowest point in partisan politics when Democrats are falsely accusing a moderate Republican of being a Nazi, while proudly supporting a candidate who literally wears a Nazi insignia on his chest.
Platner is also a misogynist and he praised Hamas, but let's not nitpick over a morally superior cholce.
Bulwark editors unfamiliar with the concept of having to provide an ID to order beer at an Applebees, because they usually just get their alcohol at the Democratic cocktail parties
