Just a thing I've been thinking: Women's rights hinge on equality across the board. Because if we cannot see each other as equal on all fronts, how can we expect anyone else to?
@asteroidthree I just realized you might be referring to how many see or respond to them. In this case it's probably cuz so many people feel connection to those ones. We tend to be drawn to things that make us feel less alone.
@asteroidthree It's understandable when those are strong and/or common struggles taking up space inside you. It's likely they'll change over time as your confidence grows and/or things improve. Ppl change and grow with time. It's inevitable. Embrace yourself no matter the place you're in rn 💛.
@asteroidthree Quick question:
Are we assuming that "pretty" is inherently part of being a woman? Or are we to assume your preferences about whether we're "pretty" or not based on arbitrary social pressures about what is "supposed" to be "pretty"? (Also, please default to "woman" not "girl"💛)
@drafoxter@E4xtream@amandaperera It's OK, and possibly important, for you to communicate this to those who desire to interact with you. Knowing isn't a guarantee that those things won't happen in a conversation, but it affords the other person the foreknowledge to attempt to control these things on your behalf.
@Mtthw570814702 @fesshole Those who don't respect me rarely make it past my radar. If they do manage to weasel through, they don't make it far enough to get what they want. It's funny that people assume I'm easy to get with simply due to the number of relationships I maintain.
@Anniec222@fesshole Are you suggesting that the only valid and viable place for a mom is at home 24/7, catering to her children instead of teaching them how to care for themselves? Instead of sharing the burden of care with others? Instead of holding down a job? Instead of caring for her own needs?
@ImNotWhatImNot @fesshole I'm not sure why this is a go-to assumption... I'm not benefiting financially from any of these long-term, loving relationship, aside from my spousal relationship, maybe, since that one assists with costs of living (we share living space).
@Zzkam19@fesshole My life doesn't revolve around any of them, and their lives do not revolve around me. We take time where we can fit it in. Keep in, I said "Varying levels of consistency," it's also varying levels of regularity.
@lindol22@fesshole I was referring to the overall relationship model, not individual relationships themselves. But I rarely have disagreements that lead to stressful interactions. And the fights my spouse and I used to have multiple times a week haven't happened in months, at least.
@WeaklingGoblin @chudguzzle @fesshole Lotta people got their heads up their butts 🤷🏻... I responded knowing it would stir the pot, but it's also truth.
Polyamory and relationship anarchy are both valid and healthy lifestyle and relationship choices. They're just not the norm, so people balk at the thought.
@waltk918 @fesshole If I had to schedule with any kind of regularity, maybe. People have lives and I'm generally not the main focus of other's lives. Nor are they my main focus.
@MenaceWNY @fesshole Nah. Those are only necessary when one becomes ill with some type of bacterial growth. Or after a surgery, I suppose. I did have to take them preventatively after my two surgeries this year.
