On our way to Kabale for the burial of Mzee William Byarugaba, we made a stop over in Mbarara where we met with some of the @NUP_Ug chapter leaders of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). Yesterday, comrade Kiyemba Musa was resoundingly elected Guild President. He replaces comrades Nasasira Bill Clinton, Mugenyi Justus and Muhumuza Ryan who were all affiliated with NUP.

I sought to understand why the NUP team did not go into this election with only one candidate. Together with the institutions team, we shall study the causes of these contradictions so that we achieve greater unity and harmony in the subsequent elections. Even then, I'm glad to note that the first three candidates were all affiliated with NUP, which means that if we had united we would have won with a much bigger margin.

I congratulated comrade Kiyemba as well as comrade Erima Augustine Adrabo who put up a spirited fight. I tasked them to put differences aside and get to work. I'm sure the students of MUST have greater expectations.

Grateful to comrade @MusiriDavid and the entire leadership of the Institutions Wing for the great work done in mobilising students for the cause. Thankful to the teams which were on ground to galvanize this support.
